Strike in Paris Oct.1st

Just learned that there is a call for a general strike in Paris the day we board our Avalon cruise. Anyone been through a strike? Trains and metro will be affected, but will taxis still be available?

Be aware keep a close eye on this the French are the ‘strike masters’.

Make sure that you have your Uber App loaded and your credit card up to date in the App.  

 

I would expect that depending on who is striking, that Uber and Taxi's may be in higher demand, but Uber drivers specifically I don't believe will strike as they are all independent.

@Suzanne123 We were in Ushuaia, Argentina during a one-day strike. It did impact the ships in the port - passengers could not leave the ship so others could not embark as their cabins were still in use. Hope you have smooth travels without too much inconvenience.

I do suspect that there will not be an awful lot of difference in the Paris traffic, strike or not, Paris was rammed. We had cars to and from the station and Scenic Gem last year so sat still in a Merc was not really a problem although with some of the very very near misses I was glad it wasn’t mine! Whoops drive a Mini now!
