Rare scooter6139 Posted October 4 #76 Share Posted October 4 For the folks who had used it, does it appear like the below image? (NCL upgrade process) I recall on NCL, you could usually bid up 3 room categories, and that includes sub-categories (IE bid on two types of Club Class Balcony and five types of Haven). I recall lots of folks failing to realize that the bid is per person, and if accepted, it is automatically charged, and you lose your old cabin, so there is no going back.

It's always amazing to me to hear how much people don't read. Thanks for the NCL example. Now I'm curious. What is the number before each question mark? Would bidding that amount make that arrow swing to the end of the green section, or what?!

That is obviously in the Deep RED. As you increase your bid, the arrow starts heading for the green. It is indicating you have a better chance to win if you increase your bid. I have done this system many, many times. There is more strategy then this but that would convolute my answer to your specific question. Hope that helps. Cruise well and enjoy every moment. For 11 days, we'll probably do it. I know, from steerage to steerage plus. My standards are well below most here. Color me odd, but tbh I like the covered, outdoor loungers better than a balcony anyway. Have a great cruise!
golfguyhhi Posted October 10 #80 Share Posted October 10 Has anyone bid? Has anyone gotten an upgrade? If your original booking was OLife or SM, did you retain that promo package, or did your upgrade get rebooked under the new Your World Included program? The T&C’s of the bid process says your booked package doesn’t change. Oceania holds the option of not informing you of bid results until Embarkment Day. I have no status on my bid. We wait. Bid have to do with availability. I used to try to bid up to the NCL Haven. If for what ever reason, a category in the haven was wide open, it was a better percentage of success at a lower bid. Other wise if the categories are fully booked or waitlisted, all you could do was wait for a cancelation and have a high bid. I would determine availability by going to one of those cruise sites, go to the category and they gave me all the open inventory. Also, I would remember what the retail price was and if it was not a super good deal, I would not bid that high. That might be obvious but I had to say it. Bidding has not really be supper successful for me but nice when it happens. Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
