stephen waugh Posted 2 hours ago #1 Share Posted 2 hours ago I am thinking of doing a Baltic Scandinavian cruise but my last 2 cruise to New Zealand and Japan have both missed 3 ports each due to bad weather so I'm a bit frustrated after paying good money then just sailing around in the middle of the ocean. Does this occur in the Baltic, I would be looking at cruising in May / June.
Rare Hlitner Posted 1 hour ago #2 Share Posted 1 hour ago I could give you an anecdotal answer, based on 50 years of extensive cruising, which is that we have never missed any port in that part of the world (true). On the other hand, we have missed ports in Japan, NZ, and Tasmania. But the truth is that bad weather and sea conditions can happen anywhere! Those of us who have been cruising a long time know that missing ports and/or having itinerary changes are a part of the cruise world. I think the odds of missing ports in the Baltic, during the spring/summer are relatively low, but it can happen. Hank
CruiserBruce Posted 1 hour ago #3 Share Posted 1 hour ago Rough seas and bad weather can happen anywhere. Mother Nature makes the final call. Good luck finding a location where weather is NEVER a possible factor.
