Sailing the Seine in July or August

Hoping to do a Seine cruise next summer on Uniworld. We do not mind the hot weather, and do not think the crowds will be unbearable. We do not anticipate many kids and the price is attractive. Also, the daylight is long. Not sure if a balcony is worth the cost the cost the chances of rafting at many ports. Are there any negatives we may be overlooking. We would appreciate any experiences or comments that may help us to decide Thanks.

It's school holidays from late July and all of August in UK, so I don't know if your anticipation will hold true.

I think most river cruise lines don't allow under 18s so the few - like Ama - that do will attract parents with kids during that period.

Looking at the Ama website seems they've got two Seine only cruises. Impressions of the Seine & Paris which is  one-way Paris to Le Havre, so if it's that you're considering have you looked into getting home from Le Havre?

The other cruise Paris & Normandy  starts and ends in Paris.

I went on a Paris to Paris cruise in September this year, but with Viking not Ama. But its excursions visited some of the places Ama does so you may find my trip report of use.
