You need to order a Caipirinha. It’s @Momof3gurlz favorite.

They are quite potent so I typically have one as my nightcap.  And I always recommend letting it sit for 5 minutes or so before drinking. This seems to allow the flavors to blend and meld together.

@bobmacliberty a poster somewhere on CC mentioned that LeBlon brand cachaca is quite pedestrian.  This is the brand I’ve seen on Royal ships and it seems fine to me, but it’s the only one I’ve had.  The same poster suggested that true Brazilian cachaca and cane sugar (along with fresh lime) make the best caipirinha’s.

Navigator arrived in late. 11am to Puerto Vallarta and our excursion time was 10:30am.

We did  the cattle call in the Royal theater and waited for our umber to be called before heading off to board the buses headed to the resort.  We experienced heavy traffic and got to the resort at noon

We pulled up to the gate and then stopped . We then were waiting…waiting…waiting for

at least 3 buses worth of people to unload one bus at a time.

The resort had beautiful grounds. You could tell this resort is older and been here awhile.

Now can you imagine your surprise if you leaned over from your lounger and was greeted by this little guy.

Loved the adult only pool and the water was just the right temperature. We hung out here most of the day.

We didn’t go down to the beach area but it was all inclusive as well with complimentary loungers and umbrellas.

Pro tip:

I read that the drinks are made pretty weak here so ask for a shot of rum to go along with your drink and pour it into your cocktail. We chose Myers dark rum. It really improved the drink.

Food very good but you better be dry to get in.

The restaurant was big and had several station including a really nice salad bar.

The restaurant mainly had American food and practically no Mexican which disappointed me. Think Golden Coral. Not bad but not impressive. Pasta, mashed potatoes, some chicken and breaded fish were the mains

They did have a ceviche station with different kinds of ceviche that you could put on a corn tortillas. Quite tasty was the seafood ceviche.

After lunch we had about an hour before heading back but thunder and lightning rolled in so we went for cover. The lobby bar was included in our package but the bartender had no idea how to make an old fashioned. No oranges so he muddled some cherries and sugar together. I smiled and kept silent.

I’m sure there are probably better resorts where you can get a day pass. Since this was our first time we didn’t know but we were ok with everything. I just was hoping for more Mexican food fare
