Why is it so difficult to get MDR Bar Service?

Recommended Posts

We have almost always had trouble getting bar service in the dining room.

Does anybody have any information on the process or what not?
We definitely wish they would “get on the ball” with bar service in the dining room.
They have lost out on A LOT of drink $ from just our group.

We have had Anytime Dining for quite a while.

Going to go back and try Early Seating again on Nov cruise.

Hoping we’ll get better bar service as a bonus?!

I suggest stopping at a bar along the way to the MDR and bring it with you. Drinks in the MDR has become more of a problem for the shorten, overworked staff. Never has not been that great of a service since Covid.

We usually bring one with us anymore. But, often would like another with dinner and even more often an after dinner drink instead of or with dessert. Is there still a dedicated staff person for bar service?  I remember there had been in the past.

In May of this year, our regular waiter took our drink order.

Because there used to be dedicated and multiple bar servers and now, the wait team also gets drinks.   Both the kitchen and bar service area require elbows to be thrown to get your orders done

I miss the days when the cocktail waitress/waiter would come around to the tables in the MDR and take your drink orders. Much quicker and efficient than how it is now. Now, we usually grab a drink before we head in and then order another one right away.  The drink service is so slow nowadays, it's ridiculous.  I recall on our last cruise on the Mardi Gras, I don't think we ever got our drinks until we were eating even though we ordered them right away.
