Shogun Posted April 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Hi There, Scotland now has some of the strongest anti smoking laws around, England will catch up in time. What happens on board a cruise ship when she enters Scottish waters. Is all smoking banned . yours Shogun
Cotton Posted April 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2006 You're kidding, right?:D The cruiselines make their own rules. If they allow smoking on the ship, that's the way it is. On shore may be a different story???
Rare LHT28 Posted April 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2006 I suspect that the cruiseline smoking rules apply onboard. On shore you abide by the local rules.
Shogun Posted April 2, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Found a note saying that ferries are covered by the law, I have asked Princess in England but they could not answer my question. yours Shogun

On shore may be a different story??? I don't think the answer is that simple. After all, ships sailing in Hawaiian waters can't open their casinos. It's possible that once a ship enters Scottish waters that they have to abide by certain local laws. I don't know if that's true of the no-smoking regulations, but does anyone here have firsthand knowledge of that?
