I saw a part of an interview about this on Greta's show tonight... it was so obviously set up just to draw viewers... I don't think anyone is doing this story for news any more, just ratings.

Hi Michael:), to be honest I am not normally a cynical person.

(I try not to be anyway) but these cases sort of hit us all in the head.

I feel very badly for the families and don't wish a death on

any of us in this manner but they aren't going to find anything:eek:

 

Actually, I had Chinese food last night and my fortune cookie had a great

saying inside,

Cynisizm is not really in my nature.....but gotta say the cases

do bring it out in me.:confused:, well, not the cases, but the

This is really an "entertainment" program and,

should be considered as such.

 

There really is not

much "mystery" as to what happened to this guy.

The real "mystery" is WHY we went on

that "swan dive" out of his cabin veranda.

 

Just proves what stupidity, too much booze

and, immaturity does to a person. I am still

wondering WHY the Mrs. was not sleeping in

her own cabin that night...she must have

really been ticked off at him, herself.

Passing out in a passageway, and, sleeping it off

is bizarre in itself. :confused:

 

Anyway,

Smiths sister is making giant strides for herself

as the attorney of record, blaming R.C.C.L. for Smith's

own un-believable consequences that night at sea,

off the coast of Turkey.

Yeah, that's true! And O'Reilly spent quite a bit of time with at least one his guests trying to figure out why in the world it took the Aruban authorities 2 months to make that news public! It was newly public information when the story was covered, and that delay sure looks odd.

seems to be the money in it. I fail to see why others are forgotten. I am more concerned with Mariam Carver from the Mercury (2004) and Annette Mizener(Carnival Pride). Both stories aired by Primetime but there were several mentioned that I had never heard about. James Christopher Scavone, the very young man who left the table to use the bathroom at the disco (Carnival Destiny)and was never seen again. We all pretty much can guess George's story but what about these people. If journalists want to make waves maybe they should do a bit more investigating on these disappearances or the ones below.

And lets not forget Dec 10 the 59 yo woman on Jewel of the Sea or Carnival Destiny the 67 and 71 yo couple whose things were found in a pile on deck. They assume these people jumped or fell overboard. Or the missing cabin steward (29 yo)from the Majesty of the Sea that went missing March 17th. Then there was the 71 yo man from the Statendam. No one knows where he is. We won't even get into 2004 which was fraught with suicides and accidental overboards.

 

The reason George and his bride get all the attention is beyond me. He made himself a target and that's what he was. My take on the bride is she either pushed him (maybe she was on the balcony)or was kept out of the way by others. Early rumours mentioned he had some winnings from the casino that night. I never heard much about that so maybe it wasn't true but it wouldn't surprise me if that was a motive. What we have been told is a fraction of what is known.

 

Mystery is compelling but let us not forget the families killed in the QM2 gangway tragedy, the three workers killed while fixing a pipe and others who have died working on/near the ships over the years. Not that there isn't death and risk with any job or travel but I do often think of these incidents too.

 

PS what about Lynsey O'Brien the latest missing person from Costa Magica. She was only 15. Nothing about her yet. This happened Jan 5th.

Who the He$$$ goes on their honeymoon and spends it with other people??? HELLOOOOOOO even on my second marriage it was all about us and spending time together. We met other people but we certainly didn't spend time "" with other people partying.... The reason this is getting so much buzz is it is so ridiculous that it is baffling. She didn't do it but she certainly didn't pass the wife 101 test of staying sober and having a brain. Now her husband is dead/missing and let's just blame the cruiseline for all of this... it makes sense somehow???? Oh wait if your a lawyer sue the deepest pockets never admit fault on your part......

They said one thing that I thought was particularly odd... they said that the wife was an hour and a half early for her massage appointment the next morning, at something like 8:30 AM! Seems odd for someone that hung over...

Which ever it was Murder or Accident I don't see why RCL would be held liable. I watched the show last night on 48 hours and what I found highly unusual was that it was at least the second night the couple hadn't shared the cabin. I have trouble believing on a honeymoon they didn't sleep together.

I agree with you. In the beginning of the show they tried to portray George and Jennifer as the perfect newlywed couple, which is not consistent with their behavior on that cruise. There is an old saying if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it. It appears the Smith family as well as its advocates, are attempting to repeat the same unfounded theories about George's death often enough so the public will believe them, and unfortunately TV news shows are more about ratings than journalistic integrity these days. There are many benign possibilites for the small amount of blood that was found in their bed, and the blood on the canopy does not preclude the possibility of an accident.

Seems odd for someone who has had only four hours sleep AND looooooots of booze in her system to be early for an appt. My moneys still on the bride. Sure he was a big guy but he couldn't even stand up. She could easily push him over if she had a mind to. I think between the time he was in the cabin the first time and the second she could have showed up and was on the balcony. Even if that's not right whose blood is in the stateroom. They never said. If he fell it doesn't figure there would be any unless he cut himself shaving earlier..no that doesn't figure. Steward would have removed any dirty towels at turndown.

Why Josh is so sure Jennifer is innocent seems strange too. How can he be so certain? All the times are speculative. She was found on the other side of the ship at the time he was suspected to have gone over...sounds like room for error there. No body, no real time of death. Not to say he didn't have an accident, just playing devil's advocate.
