Freedom of the Seas!!

Recommended Posts

The travel agent that I worked with last year called me today to tell me if I wanted to go on Freedom be before her maiden voyage for a 1 night sailing out of NY I was invited! Everything is free! Including drinks!! It's a media blitz with celebrities and media and I'll (apparently) be treated like royalty. I am so excited it's unbelievable!! :D :p :D

Uhhh, if I didn't mention it, I'm going!!

I assume that you are Diamond Plus?

Congratulations!

I am absolutely not Diamond plus. I've only sailed RCCL once, this past November. I assumed that RCCL asked this company for their best customers because they're a cruise travel agency. I assumed that the agent "chose" me among others because I booked 7 cabins this past November AND I live in the NY area. Because it's only a 1 day cruise I can't imagine her best clients from Florida or Maine or Ohio would want to come to NY for a single day's cruise. I am truly no one important!

But I will say, I am extremely excited and I will absolutely tell everyone everything! I'm almost as excited to see (and maybe meet?) some celebrities!:D

As I mentioned it's only 1 day. It's Monday, May 15, return May 16th. Apparently they'll sail far enough out to open the casino. The agent told me that will be my only expense. No tipping or cost for drinks or anything else.

AWWWW, my wedding anniversary! That would be PERFECT. I could sail out on a FREE cruise, without the schmuck, and CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!! ;)

Take your digital camera, smrtypnts!

Carol, maybe you need to call in sick that day and drive up to NYC and see if you sneak on board.

"schmuck" ??? Carol, I'm not sure I'm familiar with that word.:D Is it a term of endearment that is peculiar to Pennsylvania? Would you shorten it to DS on the boards?;)

I know everyone is saying NYC but isn't it really Bayonne. RC doesn't operate out of NYC anymore. I just want to clarify since I live about 5 minutes from Bayonne and I want to get some pics when she comes in.

smrtypnts....

Wooo hooo! I have a friend working onboard, so be sure to treat everyone nicely! :)

BTW, I once lived in Ridgefield, CT....are you anywhere near there?

Tracy

I live a hop, skip and a jump from Danbury and do a lot of shopping in Danbury,(except for groceries), but I'm not exactly sure where Ridgefield is, although I've heard of it.

RCL is doing the same thing here in Europe. First stop will be Hamburg, because she is there at the yard for final repairs anyway. April 24/25 will be a "cruise to nowhere" for TA reps and then April 25/26 from Hamburg to Oslo. We are invited for that one. After Oslo, there will also be a preview cruise from Southampton for british C&A members.

Do they still have the fair in Danbury every year?

Ridgefield would be the last town in CT before you hit Westchester NY. Actually used to take long bike rides into Westchester with my friends, way back when.

Haven't lived there since 1980, but gosh it was a beautiful town!!
