New to RCCL - Some questions

Recommended Posts

New to cruising on RCCL. Previously sailed on Carnival and Princess. Couple of questions please - Are any fountain drinks/juices available during day at no charge as are available on Carnival? Wife wants to know quality of coffee. What's the deal with ice cream - soft serve is a big hit on Carnival - and Princess cruises complained that it wasnt available. Also, what is range on drink prices - primarily gin/tonics. Thanks for information.

Coffee's okay--some ships have specialty coffee for additional $$$. Soft serve is available whenever Windjammer is open. Juice is avail. during breakfast at no charge. Tea, lemonade, and ice water complimentary all day. Sodas are never free! Most cocktails run in the $4.50-6.00 range. Don't bother with bottled water, just ask for ice water at any bar. Delicious!

Thanks for the replies - Have been wanting to try RCL for some time and since next May is 25th wedding anniversary thought this would be the time. Hope questions didn't sound petty - just trying to compare. Any other comments you have reagding MOS would be appreciated. Looks like a great ship and excellent Western ports.

Don't worry, Bryan, we all do this. cb did a great job of responding to you. I'll just add that Voyager class have at least one additional soft serve machine OUTSIDE the Windjammer on the pool deck. (if memory serves me correctly.............a questionable proposition :))

When cb says that tea is available all day, you can get not only hot beverages (tea and coffee) all day, you can get iced tea along with that lemonade all day.

If you are on a Voyager class ship, there are packets to make your own hot chocolate in the Promenade Cafe. (I used to put a packet of hot choc mix into a mug of coffee...............ummmmmmmmmmm, mocha!)

Hint: Make sure that you get ANY drink in a "REGULAR" glass, not a souvenir glass - they charge extra for that!
