Sorry Natish...

Get your times right!...Ocho Rios...Arrive 5:30 PM....leave 4:30 PM???????

Lost me there.

"We were scheduled in Ocho Rios from 8:30am- 6:00pm. As it turns out, for whatever reason, it was changed to leaving at 5:00pm and we had to be back aboard by 4:30pm"

I'm not sure what was so confusing about that. Talk about nitpicking.

Thanks for the great review!

Thanks, natish3000 for the great review and wonderful photos. My family and I (party of 16) are sailing on Enchantment June 10, 2006 and will be visiting Ocho Rios, Jamaica and George Town, Grand Cayman. I'm glad to hear that you really enjoyed Ocho Rios. I booked a tour with Orville Taylor for about 4 hours. We will be in Jamaica on Monday, June 12th.

It was a nice review...just having some fun 'cause if you check the arrival time listed....it was 30 minutes PAST the time of departure.

Of course, my departure clock is off by 2 hours and I have changed it twice....:D....

Again, NO nitpicking....just precise timing and some fun

Have a good one!

Thank you for your review. We will be on Enchantment this summer going to the same ports. We were planning on staying on board while in Grand Caymen, but now we might go ashore.

Which night was formal night?

No you MUST go ashore on Grand Cayman! Grand Cayman is one of the very nice islands, crystal clear blue water...safe to walk, no beggers coming after you to buy their stuff....classy island. If anything, stay on the ship in Jamaica, as I have cruised a number of times, I hate Jamaica with the people begging look at my stuff, pulling you to their items they are selling and asking high prices that you need to haggle what a mess and how stressful and aggravating to me for a vacation! The people rip you off, they come up to you saying they want to show you a tour of the island we have been asked an average they want $200.00 for a few hour tour, only to talk them down to $100.00...the island is beautiful if you get out of Ocho Rios, head up the mountains and such, but it is extremely poor how they live and drugs are legally sold on the streets, yes, two cruises walking around we were approached! Not safe at all for your teenagers or any children to walk around without you, actually once we were approached by a guy with a knife, luckily being originally from New York we got out of it and escapped safely....you can do the falls but I would suggest going through the cruise excursion desk.

More on Grand Cayman, hire your own cab, they are reasonable and fair, they can show you the blow holes its not far from the pier but you do get to see the beauty of Grand Cayman and on the way home you get to see famous persons houses there...the turtle farm and such are ok, I recommend the cruise shore excursion that takes you briefly around Grand Cayman shows you the major sites then takes you to the turtle farm and you make a stop for sourveniers, do get the rum tortuga cake!!! Buy two cause when you finally tast it at home you wish you had brought two. lol If you do not want to tour you can go to Rum Point where you can rent chaise lounges at the beach there and there is a bar for drinks, or you can take a cab to the Westin hotel and use their facilities. You can rent jet skie's or wave runners there also, do go you won't regret Seven Mile Beach! I would live there if I didn't have teenagers!

Another reason we were planning on stay on board is our 16 month old DS. I am not real thrilled with taking him on a tender boat. I would hate to leave the DW on the ship while I take our other 2 kids (8 and 5) to Grand Caymen.

Take your son with you! You will be helped and escorted on the tender you probably can bypass the lines if you explain when you go for tender tickets that you have "a baby".....the tender boat is huge carring many people it is fine and its not a long way to shore. Your other kids will love to swim in the water, its a must trust me the water couldn't get anymore crystal clear its just heaven. If you go to the westin hotel on Seven Mile Beach take a van or local cab its inexpensive and let them drive you there, go to the back of the hotel and rent some chairs on the beach, the kids can go into the water and you can sit in the shade somewhere, yes, there are many places there that you can sit that are shady....the kids could use the hotels pool and you can even have your son play in the sand. I think the kids would enjoy it, also just taking the ride down to the hotel will give you an idea of what the island looks like you will get to say "I have been on Grand Cayman" and know what it looks like. I would not suggest the turtle farm, it is hot there....or maybe if you are traveling with your husband/companion maybe he can take the kids if you still prefer to stay on the ship?

I think we will try it. I read what others say about Grand Cayman and they all say not to miss the island. 7 mile beach sounds good for us. We will need shade for the baby and the older kids can swim in the ocean. I also want to go to Hell to say I have been...."to Hell and back"

I am so glad that you changed your mind and are going on Grand Cayman, you will find shady areas, no problem. Oh, I went to hell also!! lol basically its just an area with a nice view and the devil stands there, you take pictures next to the devil (statute) its not much but I will remember it and laugh about it. Take pictures of the kids there they will laugh for a long time and show their friends they were with the devil. hahahaha If you want to bring back souveniers the Tortuga Rum Cake is sooooo good you will regret not buying another for yourself. They are up there in price but so worth it, fresh and yummy, I buy them online directly from the Bahamas for the holidays since they are so good.

Also if you want drinks you can buy them at the hotel anywhere, we use the Westin hotel on Seven Mile Beach, you won't regret going there, maybe Jamaica....but not there. :) Enjoy.
