Rare uktog Posted June 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2006 Welcome back all from the Galaxy. We are booked for 21 May next year and are looking at our flight options which lead us to believe we will have 2 nights precruise and 1 night post cruise. Has anyone done this through X and what did it cost? As an alternative, do X offer transfers to/from Rome and if so where is the pick up in Rome and what did they cost? I know it will be expensive to and from the airport, but before anyone suggests, trains and handling the luggage ourselves is not an option (we are on holiday :) ) I am just trying to weigh up whether to hand the whole thing, flights, hotels and all transfers to X or do some of it myself
arkcruiser Posted June 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2006 X does offer transfers to and from Fiumicino Airport. The cost for two persons this year is $170 each way.

tom_uk Posted June 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2006 One of the very active members on our Celebrity Connections arranged for a coach to pick up a load of Galaxy cruisers on 2 June from Rome, outside the main station, at 1pm, for the trip to Civitavecchia. Those on the bus were a mixture of some from the US who had been in Rome for a few days, and those like my wife & I who had flown in that morning from places within europe. The cost was €10 per person, and the coach took us all the way to the embarkation on the dockside. It was an excellent solution. I wonder if Rebekah, if she reads this, could post the name of the coach company that she dealt with? She also arranged another coach leaving Civ early on 12 June (disembarkation day) for those with early flights to catch.
