DAllenTCY Posted June 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2004 Has anyone found the outside glass elevators to be intrusive? It seems that there is a partition beside the elevators, but that the extend quite a ways from the ship side. How much of a problem for nearby verandas? Stevesan Posted June 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2004 The immediately adjacent balconies are quite visible from the elevators. Provides elevator pax with a small diversion between decks.
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2004 :) We rode those glass elevators a lot. Hardly anyone ever sat out on the verandahs right next to those elevators. The people in the elevators can see everything on those verandahs. They are not private. :)
GrammyPL Posted June 30, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2004 Krazy Kruizer is right. I would not recommend getting any of those cabins right next to the elevator. We had the next one down and that is just fine.
sail7seas Posted June 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 30, 2004 We, also, were in a Suite which was two down from the elevator and the veranda was perfectly private. The verandas immediately adjacent to the glass elevators are visible and if you want privacy, you may wish to avoid booking them.
Sinbad37 Posted July 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 1, 2004  Wonder what they saw when we were in Oosterdam's 8073 last Jan. (No, don't tell us!) The SS by the elevator was great. Most passengers seemed to be viewing the exterior views rather than looking into balconies. There is a privacy partition next to the elevator. If standing at your rail, people would very likely be able to look in. The downside, if you want to call it that, is while in port, maintenance hoses down the elevator tracts, also wetting that balcony. Upon discovering that, we were just sure not to leave anything on the balcony, extra towels, whatever. Giny & Ed :)
