Hump cabins? Obstructed views on Brilliance?

We are booked with a hump cabin at the aft side of the curve on RCCL Brilliance for the Med. Cruise. RCCL says these cabins 8602 and 8604 are not obstructed. Has anyone sailed in these "hump" cabins? Are the balconies larger? Does it make that much of a difference in the forward view?

We have been in cabin 9576 on the Serenade, which is on the front of the "hump". You will not be able to see directly ahead to the front of the ship, as we could not see directly to the stern. It isn't bad, since most of the view is all around you and you won't miss much up front, and what's up there will soon be beside you!!

 

On deck 8, you will be somewhat above the lifeboat covers that are directly below deck 7 balconies, but they do not interfere with your view much. Since the hump projects out a ways from the ship, you can see straight down to the water.

 

The balconies are larger than most of the others on the ship, the rooms are on a short hallway with a wall separating the cabins from the Centrum. Makes them very quiet and not too much traffic. You will be very close to the elevators, not any noise from them either.

Deck 7 forward and aft is the only deck that has these cabins. There was plenty of room, and 4 people can easy sit on the balcony.

What type of cabin should I expect!

Are these cabins smaller than the other E1s? We have 8604 on reserve but you are right the forward and aft E1s on deck seven do have larger balconies.

The only cabins with "partial" obstructions are at the aft end of the sides of the ship. None of the "hump" cabins have any obstructions. 8604 has a fairly deep balcony. Since most of your ocean viewing will be done standing at the railing, your view will be just great!

RNSharks, The only issue with 8604 is the fact that it is a connecting cabin. The E class cabins are 179 sq. ft. and you will lose a small sofa due to the door to 8606. If 8602 is available it might prove to be a quieter cabin.

 

Producegirl, I have not stayed in a GS but I have been in them on several of the Radiance class ships. I am sure you know the dimensions and layout of the cabin and you will receive the suite perks. What specifically do you want to know about the cabin? We will try to answer your questions.

We were on the Brilliance in June this year, Med/Greek Islands out of Barcelona. We chose cabin 9576 Deck 9, the deck was huge we had 2 chairs, lounger and a table and plenty of room for another lounger. This cabin is the 1st cabin on the hump starboard side. You can just sit on your deck and look straight out, we loved it!
