Djaye Posted July 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Is it protected from the wind - or just out in the open????
Ine Posted July 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2006 It is outside on the topdeck. Not just jogging, also walkers on the track.

Rare Keith1010 Posted July 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2006 It's very nice but is not protected from the wind. Keith
Lsimon Posted July 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Typically windy to very windy on about 1/2 of the track, especially just before it enters (or just after it leaves) the area immediatley above the pool. The rest is more or less sheltered. But be prepared for some windy spots. Track is 1/3 kilometer so five laps to the mile.
Seabee Posted July 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2006 And don't forget...it is not your personal jogging track. Notice in the picture posted, thatt there are lounge chairs along the track...there will also be walkers, sitters, standers, smokers, drinkers, crew members washing the deck, etc. You can get in some decent exercise but if you are in training for a marathon, this isn't the place to do it. This is a good point and is particularly true any time people are sunning by the pool. The forward 1/3 of the track is along the upper level around the pool and is a narrow width surrounded on both sides by lounge chairs. This area gets fairly crowded, and often people pull their chairs into the track area and stand around there - so it becomes a bit of an obstacle course. The aft 2/3 of the track is much wider so tends to be much more open, but there will still be people in this area. Here is a link to a picture of that part of the track - imagine people filling the chairs on both sides and the chairs being all moved around a little: http://simon-pics.smugmug.com/photos/66292839-S.jpg This is less of an issue early in the morning before most sunbathers are out. Longboysfan Posted July 10, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2006 Use the track in the early am to avoid the larger amounts of walkers. I have always found about 7:00am is the best. Or anywhere after the heat of the day is going about 6:00pm.
