ZigNKat Posted July 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2006 This has probably been addressed along the way, but I haven't seen it, so please excuse if I'm repeating. . . It's been quite a while since we cruised -- I know shorts are not allowed in the dining room at dinner, but what about breakfast? I know we don't have to "dress up", but we're wondering if we can just throw on some clothes and go eat in the morning without having to go through "full hair and make-up". Thanks to all for their help! Happy cruising!!!
Anton Posted July 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2006 Shorts and t-shirts are not a problem at breakfast or lunch in the dining room. It is what I always wear (well, in the warmer climates anyway).
glgolfer Posted July 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2006 Just no bathing suits.
pcur Posted July 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2006 LOL.....or, as one poster reported seeing one morning..... No bathrobes, slippers, jammies, and rollers. Yes, in the dining room. These two women just schlepped on over from their cabin. What a hoot!
ZigNKat Posted July 15, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted July 15, 2006 Oh, my!! Jammies and curlers? Heck, I don't go into my backyard with jammies and curlers!!!
pcur Posted July 15, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2006 Well, I'll do the nightie in the backyard, because nobody can see into my backyard!! Yes, that sight in the morning in the DR would put one off one's feed, wouldn't it? :D :D
defrombc Posted July 19, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2006 A large number of guests also wore shorts on the Splendour for late seating dinner so I would not worry about breakfast
Rare BillOh Posted July 19, 2006 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2006 Another stupid question. We ate breakfast every day at the Winjammer. Do they have a menu to choose from in the Dining room? Worth checking out?
bobbie0253 Posted July 19, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 19, 2006 Most ships will not allow men to wear tank tops in the dining room. Shorts are fine for breakfast and lunch.
Aunu Posted July 19, 2006 #10 Share Posted July 19, 2006 Ive wondered how breakfast and lunch work in the dinning room to.... menu? buffet? we've always eaten in the windjammer for these meals do they have lunch in the dinning room when in port or just sea days? pcur Posted July 19, 2006 #11 Share Posted July 19, 2006 Breakfast and lunch in the dining room is menues. The selection for breakfast is actually good, but if you are a big breakfast eater, then the 'Jammer is better. Lunch is like dinner: several entrees, salad, etc. We always eat lunch in the 'Jammer, so I'm not sure what they do now in the dining room on port days. They used to have an open seating buffet in the dining room, but they may just close it while in port, because so many poeple choose the 'Jammer. Someone else can probably answer. teacherkim Posted July 19, 2006 #12 Share Posted July 19, 2006 On our AOS sailing a few weeks ago, the dining room was only open for lunch on the one sea day. All other days it was only the Windjammer.
Aunu Posted July 19, 2006 #13 Share Posted July 19, 2006 Windjammer just seems more convient, probably will stick with that... although its always really busy at breakfast.
pinkrosesdeb Posted July 19, 2006 #14 Share Posted July 19, 2006 At least they had on robes and slippers. The girl on our Mariner cruise 2 yrs. ago showed up in the windjammer in her bra and underwear! Guess she really felt at home.
Anton Posted July 20, 2006 #15 Share Posted July 20, 2006 The dining room breakfast can often be more relaxing and just as fast (sometimes faster) than eating in the Windjammer. RCCL does a very good Eggs Benedict in the dining rooms.
