AA advance baggage check in Fort Lauderdale

Recommended Posts

We're considering booking a late flight home (FF miles) and this would be a lot easier if we can use the AAdvance baggage check that American Airlines offers. Has anybody used this in Fort Lauderdale lately that can tell me exactly how it works and what the cost is? Thanks for any help in advance!!

We just returned from AOS in San Juan and used the American Airline service.

It worked great. The cost was $10 per person and we recieved our boarding passes and luggage tags the night before we got off the ship.

The bags were placed with all of the others, by color tag. We got our bags gave them to a porter and he took them to an area with the other American bags.

We did not see them again until we got home. It was well worth the money and would do it again.

Are you talking about AOS from MIAMI and not Fort Lauderdale? I am interested in knowing if the service is even available in Fort Lauderdale. (I have used it too - in Miami - and it was wonderful. No problems).

Can anyone verify that the service is available in FLL?

Just spoke with AA and they know nothing about this. Is this something RCCL offered to its guest? Maybe they have worked something out with AA. Did you pay the $10 pp to AA or RCCL? Trying to figure out if this is offered in Bayonne? Our flight isn't until 7:00p.

Here is some information from aa.com. It only list the cruise lines that participate, it does not list the port locations. I did this is Miami in April 06 and it was great, if FLL has the option go for it.

AA actually says check bags at AAdvance check in on the ship and once ship docks, your done. But in Miami we had to p/u our bags and had to go over to the AA counter to complete the check in process.

Now you can drop off bags and check in for flights on board cruise ships, at hotels and convention centers. aadvanceBaggageCheck.gifParticipating Cruise Lines

- Royal Caribbean International

- Celebrity Cruises

- Norwegian Cruise Line Imagine being able to check your luggage for your American Airlines flight before you get to the airport. And as an added convenience, get your boarding pass at the same time. Our new AAdvance Bag CheckSM program allows non-airport, remote check-in from select cruise lines, convention centers and hotels...with more locations being added. AAdvance Bag Check service is fast and secure. Here's how it works...

manAtHotel.gif For as little as $10 per person, homebound cruise passengers can drop off their luggage and check in for American Airlines flights at the AAdvance Bag Check station on board the ship. After the ship docks, bags are transported directly to the departure airport. Passengers can relax on the last day of their voyage without having to deal with their luggage until they land at their final destination.

Similarly, convention and trade show guests can go to AAdvance Bag Check locations at many convention centers and hotels to check bags and get boarding passes for their American Airlines flights. Like the service provided on cruise ships, luggage is transported directly from the convention center or hotel to the airport to be boarded on the flight.

AAdvance Bag Check is currently available at over 30 locations. More are being added, so be sure to review this list of available locations before your next trip.

On rare occasions there may be difficulties in processing some passenger's airline records from a remote location, preventing the printing of boarding passes and luggage tags at the AAdvance Bag CheckSM locations. In these cases, it may be necessary for travelers to check in and check bags in person at their departure airport.

AAdvance Bag Check service is provided by Baggage Airline Guest Services, Inc. (BAGS). American Airlines is not responsible for products and services offered by other companies.
