DuncanLL Posted August 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2006 I like to have a diet soda with dinner. It has been a while since we sailed on RCCL. Is soda offered free at sit-down meals? I'm hoping the answer is "Yes". Thanks. LD
ssatterly Posted August 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Not for free..You can buy a soada card or buy glasses of soda at dinner
takeavacation Posted August 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Sorry to disappoint....all soda is charged on board the RCI ships.

cb at sea Posted August 8, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Since you only drink it with dinner, just buy as needed. The soda card will not pay for itself unless you are a heavy soda drinker! It's cheaper than buying a cocktail or glass of wine with dinner! (Or you could just drink ice water--that's free!)
ChefStomp91 Posted August 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Another questions regarding this - what about club soda or seltzer water. Are those free or do you have to pay for those as well??
wrp96 Posted August 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2006 You pay for club soda or seltzer as well.
KelJ Posted August 9, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2006 If you pay as you go, you receive canned soda (no free refills). If you purchase the soda sticker, you receive unlimited fountain soda.
takeavacation Posted August 9, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2006 By the way...how much is the soda sticker/soda pass? I'll be on NOS 9/2 - 7 nights. Thanks!
ksheehan16 Posted August 9, 2006 #10 Share Posted August 9, 2006 I have wondered why they will bring you nearly as many lobster tails as you can eat at no extra cost but charge you for what is maybe .10 worth of fountain soda.
DukeFamily Posted August 9, 2006 #11 Share Posted August 9, 2006 By the way...how much is the soda sticker/soda pass? I'll be on NOS 9/2 - 7 nights. Thanks! I think for adults it's $6 per day (times 7 days = $42). For kids (under 18) I think it's $4 per day.

Add gratuity on top of that price of 15%. If you aren't a big soda drinker, it's usually less expensive to buy the cans. I miss the days when softdrinks were included at dinner too. :(

Brad1185 Posted August 9, 2006 #15 Share Posted August 9, 2006 If you purchase fountain sodas in the dining room, do they still give unlimited refulls?
Merion_Mom Posted August 9, 2006 #16 Share Posted August 9, 2006 You can't purchase fountain sodas in the dining room. If you have the soda card, you get unlimited glasses of fountain soda. If you don't have the card, you get a can of soda for $1.73 ($1.50 + 15% gratuity).

takeavacation Posted August 9, 2006 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Ok - so using my vast math skills....soda pass =$48.30 (price plus tax). I would need to drink 4 12oz. cans ($1.73) a day to break even ( on a 7 night cruise) - or 28 cans during the week. That's alot of soda -- but not if that's all you drink all day -- and I don't drink alcohol. But, I do love lemonade! Big decisions!
Merion_Mom Posted August 9, 2006 #19 Share Posted August 9, 2006 A can of soda in the dining room....now that goes well with a tuxedo! ;)Well, since I neither drink their soda nor wear a tuxedo, I'm set! (though I'd be honored to sit with you while YOU wore a tuxedo, with or without carbonated beverages! ;))

And we would break open a bottle of fine wine...no cans of soda for us! When ARE we cruising together? When are you on Crown Princess again? I really do want to do that ship!
