That's interesting news. I didnt realize John was headed to Journey. I wish John all the best in his new assignment.

Yeah, he's headed there and will be taking an active part in the new entertainment program as the activity staff will take the place of the usually X singers and dancers. Natalie Clemens who was the CD on the Zenith will be stepping down to Activity Manager. It's a chance for her to see the new class of ship. It may also affect who gets the Journey and Quest when the Quest joins the fleet. Noemi, I forget her last name, will also be on the activity staff. We sailed with her on the Galaxy.

Century will have a change of masters for the TA crossing, the Cruise Director changed three weeks ago with Donnel Davis moving from Galaxy to Century. I'm pretty certain that many of the names below are now enjoying their holiday elsewhere.

Galaxy Captain Mikhail Margaritis; CD Stewart Turnbull; Hotel Director Philip Herbert, CC Hostess Heidi left X on 31 MAy and they have promoted one of the activities staff who used to work in the Spa She is from US and I think she was called Louise but I will probably have that wrong. Heidi has gone back to live in her home town of Calgary

The 'then' Captain was Zizis Taramas. He actually is the Staff Captain and was replacing the real Captain who was on vacation during the cruise. He is now back in command and his name is Michael Karatzas. He is apparently going to be Solstice first Captain...

I know Captain Tamaras from a previous cruise I took on Millennium in 2003. He was the Staff Captain at that time.

Whilst I was on board I had an accident and in the follow up to this I met with both the Captain and Staff Captain as well as several others. It was not a happy cruise for me and I left telling them I would not cruise with X again. In fact I did have a cruise on Constellation booked which I cancelled.

After this I cruised with Princess but I never say never and last year I cruised on Galaxy and Century and booked the Millennium cruise for this year.

I was a little embarrased when I met Captain Tamaras who remembered be only too well. He was absolutely FANTASTIC to me and made me feel very welcome on his ship.

From the information about him in the news letters it stated that he had been promoted to Captain in 2005 having previously been Staff Captain.

 

I just hoped that he was not on board Millennium at the moment as obviously this will be a problem for any Captain. I liked Captain Temaras and would always wish him well in his future career with Celebrity.

 

Thanks for the information. Right now I am packing for my QM2 cruise leaving on the 11th July. Rain and more rain here at the moment!

Melanie is not longer the CC Hostess on Galaxy. As a mater of fact, she's not longer a CC Hostess. She was promoted to future cruise consultant and is now working on the Mercury.

When I was on Millennium in March I was told by the Concierge Janet that this Italian Hotel Director had just left M to go to Journey and she had been asked to go with him.

She has accepted as she had the possibility of a promotion and this would then lead to better conditions re shorter contracts i.e.4 months on and she was keen as she has a 5 year old son. He misses her a lot and she him. She was leaving M when it went to Dry Dock in April

 

Must have been a mistake or the World Job has come up since this time.
