Atlantis questions answered for those who want to know about…

I don't belong to a special group, if you mean AARP, government, etc. I just used the site as it came up. I went in and looked at it. If you are referring to the far left, it says "Significant Organization" it means internet savings. You can scroll down for other options, but that is the best rate.

I also called the hotel direct for quotes. Spring break will be pricey.

Wow, 400! But for spring break I see they stick it to us. The armband colors are all the same, there was no difference.

As for getting to the pools, when we walked to the pool area 2 security personnel stopped us and asked to see our card, usually the Atlantis gives a plastic card to their guests, but we showed them the CS card. Then once at the pool area we were able to get the bands. One thing you can do is this, walk the kids in to get the bands and see if they give you 4, if not, they get the bands and you have the paper card and you can then sit by the pool as you are already inside and the kids can go on the slides. NO one will ask them for the card once the bands are on, and you can simply show the card if you are asked. It might work and I stress might.

As for the special rate, we booked under it as well and was never asked any questions about it.

Hi there,

I must thank everyone for their posts about Atlantis and the Comfort Suites and their policies. I too, am looking to book a room just to use the amazingly sounding facilities at Atlantis. We are four in total going on the Sovereign of the Seas arriving in Nassau on april 4, 2007 early dock time. From the post, I think we will walk over as it is an early port and check in. From the posts I am sure we can check in early and go over to the Atlantis for the day. I am sooooo excited about using the facilities at Atlantis!

I have booked for four in total, 2 adults and 2 children. I paid $212.00 NOT including tax. My children are older than the age restrictions but I did not include this when booking as I did not want to pay an arm and a leg for use of the Atlantis for a day. I booked the rate with the discount offered on smarterliving.com as posted by other cruise critic users. great deal, ( no matter what discount I tried to enter this was the cheapest, and I surfed for a straight week searching all the deals out there.) I will let you know how stringent age restrictions are for wrist bands when I return after April 7. 2007. I am hoping all goes well as I want to mostly use all the water features available and did not want to chance a daily rate that may or may not be available when we arrive. I will keep you posted, and if I don't please give me a nudge or shove to remind me to post after the fact. I WANT to be as helpful as those have been before me. THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!! to all of those people that will have enhanced our holiday. :)

I too booked the $212 rate, but I booked for 2 guests. I was too scared to book the kids as under the age limit of 11. If my mother and I are lucky we will be able to sit by the pool, or beach. (I am hoping that no one would question a 75 yr old lady!) Otherwise there is plenty for my mom and I to do, and the kids are old enough to take care of themselves. Of course we have cell phones! Good luck.....I am sure you will be fine....when you check in, I am sure they wont ask to see the kids.(to check their ages).

See you there!

I would say you need 2 if you all want to have full access. However, they might be willing to give you more bands per room but charge you the taxes and fees where applicable, you never know. Try calling them and see what they say.

very close, you will walk to the back of the hotel and go about 20 yards to the atlantis drive way, you will have to cross it and you are there, BUT ATLANTIS is huge expect to walk once you get there.

Has anyone had trouble getting the wrist bands and checking into the CS?? Will want to use Atlantis by 10:00 or 11:00 and wondered if anyone has had a difficult time with the check in being at 3:00. TA called just to check asking a general question and she was told that it wouldnt be possible!

soccermom,

We checked in without any problem, they asked if we wanted a room right away because ours was not ready, we could have said no and they would still have given us the card to get the wristbands. Instead we took the room which was a smoking room.

You should not have any problems.

Oh we checked in around 10am.

Thanks, that is good to know. The TA did not get the same answer so she wanted me to be sure. My boys cannot wait to go, especially the slide where the sharks are. Which slide is the best one to see the sharks. One other question, are the lines for the slides really long? Thanks to everyone for all the great answers and advice!!!!

Both “Leap of Faith” and “Serpent Slide” go into the shark tank. HOWEVER, “Leap of faith is too fast to see anything. The “Serpent Slide” goes slower once in the shark tank.

Look on page 2 to see the slide pictures.

Yes the lines can be long, the Serpent Slide had the longest line. You should also know that all lines are merged together on the pyramid but there should be two lanes, one with tubes and the other without tubes. The “Challenger Slides” are also located on the pyramid and do not use tubes nor does “Leap of Faith.”

Basically it breaks down like this:

1 line no tube waits for 3 slides, “Leap of Faith” and the “Challenger Slides(2)”

1 line with tube waits for the “Serpent Slide”

All pictures on page 2 of this thread.

THank you all for the info. My question pertains to the fact that there are 6 of us (3 adults and a 6, 4 1/2 and almost 2 year old). Would we need 2 rooms or can we get away with 1 room somehow???

Both Atlantis and Comfort Suites are VERY strict about age requirements as well as how many people in a room .

You're room card will note how many people are paid in a room, and that is the number of bracelets you will be alloted for your group.

This is computerized, there's no cheating the system. If you book a room for 2 people and 4 show up, you'll get 2 bracelets, or get charged for 2 xtra ppl to get 4 bracelets. Period.

If you are 6 ppl, and they allow 4 to a room, you'll need 2 room. Comfort Suites deeply discounts the 2nd room if you explain your situation when you book directly with them. (this is not available online).

When you say strict about ages do they check all id's, or something? Should I bring everyone's birth certificates too? Also, do they list the ages of everyone too on the CS card?

Thanks again for all the great info. You seem very well informed.

If you have kids of questionable age. (meaning they look like they could be over the age limit.. ) and want to prove they are to be paid for at the childrens age. Then bring BC or school ID's.

The CS card won't list the ages. Bracelets are the same for all ages.

It's WILL matter for room charges. You'll be charges these taxes and surcharges regardless of whether or not you use the room.

Children under 12 stay free if sharing room with parents. Children 16 or older charged as adults.Max 4 persons/room. Energy Surcharge: 6.00/night/person (for all persons 16 and older) Housekeeping gratuity 4.00/night/person (for all persons 12 & older)

It's not uncommon for hotels to ask for ID's for all guests. It's actually supposed to be done, but some desk clerks overlook it.

  • 2 weeks later...

We booked a room at the comfort suites this week to use the Atlantis pools. 2 Adults and 3 Children....kids ages 1, 9 and 13. We were given a room right away. Checked in at 9:00 am and checked out at 4:30pm just in time to take a taxi back to the Ship. They will call a cab for you at the front desk if you ask.

Comfort suites never asked the ages of the kids nor did they give us a problem about the 3rd child. We made the resv. for 2 adults and 2 child.

Kids under 3 are free at the Atlantis and do not need a wrist band if staying in your room

It was a 5 minute walk over to Atlantis.

:) :) :D :D :o

Thanks so much for the info on this thread! It has been one of the most helpful I have ever read on CC.

I was browseing to find something to do in Nassau and will probably end up at the CS or Atlantis. It is just DH & I the end of Jan. has anyone been there at that time and if so can you tell me if the water temp is ok.

I know dh would love to do the slides at Atlantis & I may book to surprise him.

Thanks again!

Debbie

We're looking at doing the CS thing as well. I am curious about the pool temps for the first weekend in December............if mrbit posted about this, I missed it, sorry!

Wanna go but don't wanna freeze! We're there from 11 am to 3 am, so I'd think this is perfect; pool/beach and then casino with a change in between (and in a full size shower as a bonus! LOL)

Anyone know if the pools are heated?

I think I read in another post that the pools are not heated. If you're considering CS you might also want to call Atlantis and ask for their "after thanksgiving" rate (or you can book it online). I can get a rate of $165 on 12/1, all taxes and surcharges included which should be cheaper than CS.
