Ready to Book 2nd Cruise and Need Your Help

Hi all...I'm hooked. My DH and I spent our 1st cruise on Carnival Miracle and now I'm ready to go again. The Miracle was a great ship but now I want to go to Alaska. I have heard many good things about RCCL and now that I am ready to book are there any thoughts about going to Alaska on "The Serenade Of The Seas"? I am looking at JS 1042 sailing on Sept. 8th, 2007. Would this be a good choice and how will it compare to Carnival? I am hoping the beds are abit softer. Any help would be appreciated. I have a hold on a this cruise and need to make up my mind. Also, if I put down the deposit and something happens and we can't go (prior to taking out trip insurance) will I lose any of the deposit?

The Serenade is a gorgeous ship, perfect for cruising Alaska, with all the glass and views from almost anywhere on the ship.

If you cancel any time before final payment (70 days before sail date), you can get every penny back. (not cruise insurance, though)

A refund on the deposit depends on how far out you book! Check when you call RCI, and they will tell you the time limits.

A Js on RCI is wonderful! It's a great cabin! If Sept. is the only time you can cruise, go for it! You'd probably have better weather in July or early August, but you do what you have to do!

Just make up your mind now!!! It's your money and your vacation!!!!

You may want to check out the Roll Call for the Sept 10 2006 Serenade cruise (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=351851&page=9) for some details on the ship/itinerary.

The Alaska boards (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55) are also a wealth of information, and you'll find a good number of reviews of the Serenade Hubbard Glacier cruise.

I hope you go with the Serenade- I did this cruise earlier this year and loved it! (My review: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=374486)

Good luck!
