Packing Toiletries

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to know what cruisers have been doing about packing the toiletries you'll need for departure morning. Do you just put them in your checked luggage at the terminal or throw them away? And just what kind of stuff can you actual keep in your carry on? I just need that deodorant and mascara in the AM.:o

Are you referring to the cruise terminal or the airline terminal? Cruise wise there are no limitations similar to the recent ones @ liquids and gels imposed by the airlines. As for the airport, you can probalby call your airline to get an update close to the date of travel since things seem to change overnight sometimes.

Even tho you put your bags in the hallway the night before, you must take posession of them before you go through customs. You can them put all of your liguids into what will be your checked bags. Just make sure anything the airlines may classify as liquid (like your mascara!) is in your checked luggage. If you will need it after your plane lands, put it in an outside pocket, so you can grab it quickly once you've picked up your bags.

We put all of our toiletries into one carry on and checked that one in. This works only if, like cb at sea says, you take possession of your bags before you check them in at the airport (or at the airport check-in desk at the pier).

It does not work if you are using US Direct in Vancouver.
