SBT_KITTENS Posted September 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2006 We are trying to plan a cruise on the explorer of the seas out of bayonne for next year and are tossed between leaving in October or November..Is there one better month over the other?? We dont want to be detoured from the listed islands due to bad weather.. Any input would be much appreciated..
wolfcathorse Posted September 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2006 If you were asking about last year, I'd say don't go at all. But this year, the hurricane zone seems to have shifted west. Who knows what next year will bring. This uncertainty is just the cost of cruising during hurricane season. If your cruise will be ruined because the captain chose to keep you safe instead of sticking to the itinery, then please don't go at all. Just pick the time best for you, hope for the best, and if a hurricane does mess up your plans, be spontaneous and make "lemonade" out of those "lemons". Merion_Mom Posted September 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2006 She's right..............you can't predict the weather a year+ out! Both months fall within "hurricane season". You are playing the odds ANY time you book within hurricane season. In terms of temperatures, you already know that October is likely to be warmer than November. :) We're sailing her out of Bayonne in December, so temperatures don't bother us A BIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
