chelsea_gal Posted September 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2006 A question for all the non americans out there who have taken a cruise that has departed from a US port. When you fly into the states using say a non American passport you are asked to filled out a US Custom Declaration form. On that form it ask's for the hotel address/destination that you will be staying out during your time in the US. What do most people enter when leaving on a cruise? We are off on the Mariner of the Seas on Sunday October 1 ( Eastern Caribbean Sailing (yippee!! cannot wait) and wondered what to put. For the Princess Cruise we took last Feb, they gave some advice on the ticket FAQ that we received. But nothing is listed like that on the Royal Caribbean tickets. And it was 10 years since we last took a RCCL so we cannot remember. Any advice/past experiance comments will be greatly appreciated.
weechloe Posted September 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2006 We've been told on the ship to put in transit. We've never had any problems.
Davey Interweb Posted September 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Yup. Put 'IN TRANSIT' for destination and the ship's name under flight/vessel.

yogimax Posted September 23, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Don't worry on this one. You can simply write "transit." If there are any questions, you will have your cruise documentation with you.

Swedish cruiser Posted September 23, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2006 See text below: First address during a stay in the USA: House number Street City/town State Zip code A full hotel address can be given as the first address in the USA. Passengers who are travelling onward aboard a cruise ship should give the name of the ship as the first address and the US port at which the cruise begins. If the journey is to be continued with a hire car, the full address of the hire car station can be given. US citizens and other passengers who hold a permanent residence permit, together with passengers who will be travelling through the USA in transit to a third country, are exempt from this regulation Swedeish Cruiser:) 2005 Norwegian Dawn 2006 Navigator of the seas 2007 Liberty of the seas

lovemylab Posted September 23, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 23, 2006 I flew into Miami the day before the cruise so I just indicated "Holiday Inn Miami/ RCCL cruise" on my declaration. I didn't have to put an address and had no problems clearing customs.
Fran Harp Posted September 23, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Hi Middy Nice to see a reply from a "fellow" Brit we now live in Canada ( 6 years now) but where from Essex before. Thanks for the tip ... To everyone else who have replied Big thanks as well !!! I wrote on mine "connecting to cruise ship", and then in the address space put the name of the ship and line, date, time and location of sailing, and had the cruise docs handy in case they asked. Where are you flying out from? Fran in Toronto
