In-the-Glade Posted September 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2006 We are interested in the Caribbean Princess. We are a couple with a 24 yr old son and 20 yr old dtr and were wondering if we would be better off with a mini-suite or a family suite with interconnecting staterooms. Anyone who has cruised with this type of family configuration have any suggestions for an economical way to do this?
can786 Posted September 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2006 You would be much berrer off booking a minisuite with an inside across the hall than booking the family suite. With the family suite you will pay full fare (at suite level pricing) for the first four people in the cabin. I have stayed in the family suite on the Star Princess (didn't pay for it though, we were upgraded from a minisuite and an inside cabin) and it was great for us at the time as my kids were 11 and 14. If you choose to go with a minisuite only the third and fourth people would sleep on a pull out couch and a pull down bunk over the couch. If ou have any questions about the specific layout of the family suite just ask.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted September 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2006 With kids that age I would either book a mini-suite and an inside across the hall or 2 mini-suites side by side. I've found this is not only a great way to travel but ends up being cheaper than booking the family suite. Plus the family suites tend to be all the way in the front of the ship and I don't like being there because I feel more of the ship's motion up front.
