What made your "best cruise" so memorable?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone :)

For me, the best cruise I've ever taken, was recently on the Mariner. Besides having a great dining staff and delicious food, we had an awesome Cruise Critic group .... the Mariner Maniacs!

These folks made this week, for me, the best cruise ever!

So what aspects of your past cruises have made it your "best cruise ever"? :)

The Adventure was my best so far. Not only was it my first balcony of which I am now totally spoiled LOL but it was the largest and most beautiful ship I have evern been on, and I had the BEST staff ever! I fell in love with just about every single person I had the great pleasure of meeting from the dining crew, the cruise staff, and bartenders, along with a few I still keep in contact with :)

My Rhapsody cruise last week ties for first place with my Hawaiian cruise last year.

The last Rhapsody cruise was awesome for the following reasons:

it was a girl cruise with my sister and 2 cousins who are all very special

the CC Roll Call group-Rhapsody Raiders-was wonderful

my first JS and aft/stern balcony

cabin steward Carlos Alvarez was fantastic

The NCL Wind cruise to Hawaii was great because:

DH and I celebrated our 25th anniversary and his birthday

it was an 11 day cruise with 4 days at sea

the Hawiian Islands were awesome and the pre and post cruise stay was tops

we cruised with 2 other wonderful couples

our CC Roll Call group was great and we arranged for our M&M and NCL sponsored it

CD Darren was wonderful

we got to cruise to a remote island- Fanning Island, Kiribati- which was sparcely populated and undeveloped more like Hawaii used to be

2 helicopter excursions, one over a volcano

great snorkeling

our first balcony, great room service

Our favortie cruise was our last one on the Serenade. Our first time in an Owners Suite (now I want nothing less) we had great weather everday and every excursion was better than the one before. I cannot think of one complaint except the hotel we stayed at after our cruise.

It was the hotel Milano and we had a front room and all we heard all night was loud music, partying, and horns blaring. I would never recommend this hotel.

My favorite cruise was on the Pacific Princess (original Love Boat) because that is where I met my wife! The best cruise was the last one, on the Jewel of the Seas, because of the crew and new CC friends.:D

Only been on 2 but the first was the best. Dawn Princess S. Carrib. in April of '04. We didn't know when we booked what a great cruise it was. Boarded in San Juan and visited St Lucia, Tortola, Barbados, St. Thomas and St. Marten all in 7 nights!! I've been looking for one exactly like it ever since.

9 out of 10 cruises so far have been awesome.

My favorite to date has been the now defunct American Hawaiian Independence, we sailed on her a year before they went bankrupt. It was not only wonderful to sail Hawaii, but the crew onboard was the best we've ever had.

My second fav has to be my first cruise on Disney Magic, that is a beautiful ship and we're Disney fans.

We can always find good things on all ships, even our least favorite experience had some pretty good things about it.

My most memorable cruise was the first one I took with my husband and my daughter on the Carnival Victory (sorry...we were newbies). I had been on a cruise before and knew what to expect but I loved experiencing everything through their eyes for the first time all over again.

My most memorable cruise was a 3 night on the Soverign of the Seas with a group of girl friends. (10 years ago) I got smashed and sang "Love Shack" at Karaoke. I went wild and thus the crowd went wild. I was the first person on that cruise to get two keychains for my performance! LOL I was well known throughout the rest of the cruise as Love Shack. It was great!!!!!!!

That was the most memorable but all of them have been great. My favorite ship is still the Enchantment. :)

Best cruise ever Voyager out of Bayonne 9/2005

Why?

1. Got to spend some much alone time with my DH

2. Had a Grande Suite

3. Great weather

4. Concierge Lounge

5. Got invited to the captains table. Most incredible experience

6. Received a tour of the bridge.

7. To see my husband face during the bridge tour , he was like a kid. It's a memory i'll never forget.

Tough choice

...Alaska was our favorite cruise. Completely different than the Caribbean that we've been to a hundred times, awesome scenery, first time there, met great CC friends, more touring than sitting by the pool, great ship, great food, did more "ship things"...first time in Vancouver..I could go on...

There were so many "bests"....first cruise, 50th b'day cruise, family cruise, last cruise...and next cruise in 8 days!!!

Life is good.........

Every cruise we try seems to be better than the last. So seeing our best cruise has yet to come I really don't know what to answer.

Since we started cruising RCI I've enjoyed nights at the piano bar, multiple dining experiences, Zydego dancing lessons, spa treatments, fitness programs, rock wall climbing (yes i know I'm 50 and shouldn't be trying these things for the first time). Ice skating, trivia, gambling in the casino. Coffee on my balcony as the sun rises. I only wish I could live onboard. Actually have thought about going for a cruise line nursing job but don't think I could live without my dog that long:eek: . DH could visit:D
