MrPete Posted October 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2006 The wealth of knowledge will be lost, mixing all cabin questions to a place I certainly won't be visiting. Bad move, guys.
hockeyluver Posted October 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2006 The wealth of knowledge will be lost, mixing all cabin questions to a place I certainly won't be visiting. Bad move, guys. I have to agree, the majority of people come to this forum and dont venture into the others. I think they are getting carried away with catagorizing all the posts. Mysticks1 Posted October 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2006 The wealth of knowledge will be lost, mixing all cabin questions to a place I certainly won't be visiting. Bad move, guys. I agree - most of those questions will go unanswered if not on the main boards. Why not leave them on the main boards for 24 hours before moving them. That way they get answered before being moved and then they might eventually do some good for those looking for cabin information on that board. WHITESANDBLUESKIES Posted October 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but where were the cabin questions moved to?
Mysticks1 Posted October 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but where were the cabin questions moved to? http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=430149 Cabin selection tips. When a thread is moved it will state "moved" and you can click on it and it will take you to the forum that it was moved to.
elon mom Posted October 19, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2006 I agree with mystick1- at least leave them long enough to get a few replies..... I find myself sticking to the main board and not looking at the others....takes too much time especially when I am doing this at work;)

mrdood Posted October 19, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2006 it even kills the "search this forum" room number punching that I love... ...and I am one of the biggest advocates for keeping Carnival just Carnival and separating out non-Carnival information to Port Forums, Floataway etc. - and even I think this is a "running aground" kind of idea... BND Posted October 19, 2006 #15 Share Posted October 19, 2006 So, why have a Carnival forum at all if questions pertaining only to Carnival are going to be moved? People come to the Carnival forum looking for info about Carnival Cruises and ships. The search feature already doesn't work most of the time, so this is just going to make this forum less user friendly. Rethink this please! ladycaveat Posted October 19, 2006 #16 Share Posted October 19, 2006 The wealth of knowledge will be lost, mixing all cabin questions to a place I certainly won't be visiting. Bad move, guys. So true! Is it just me or does it seem like so many really good threads are being moved these days? I usually only read this board, the fashion board and the ports boards. I just have time to read bunches of different boards.

joepeka Posted October 19, 2006 #18 Share Posted October 19, 2006 So, why have a Carnival forum at all if questions pertaining only to Carnival are going to be moved? People come to the Carnival forum looking for info about Carnival Cruises and ships. The search feature already doesn't work most of the time, so this is just going to make this forum less user friendly. Rethink this please! Agree totally - people want to ask (and have answered) questions about Carnival cabins on the Carnival board. I only frequent the Carnival, HAL and Ports of Call boards. hstrybuf Posted October 20, 2006 #20 Share Posted October 20, 2006 I don't have time to read more than my roll call, Carnival and maybe a couple of other cruiseline specific forums. Some days, I don't even have time to read those! Pete, FWIW, I agree with you. They are going to get fewer answers on another forum when they are looking for something that is cruiseline specific. enester Posted October 20, 2006 #22 Share Posted October 20, 2006 The new category is a great place to go to ask a question.... but awful for getting an answer. I know I won't be surfing there to see if anyone is asking about a cabin I know something about......
Rare finoky Posted October 20, 2006 #23 Share Posted October 20, 2006 It has been my observation that a lot more posts get moved from this section of CC than any other.
cathyoo Posted October 20, 2006 #24 Share Posted October 20, 2006 I would think the generic cabin thread would be fine for asking general cabin selection questions. However, if I have a question about a CARNIVAL cabin here is where I would look for help. Makes sense to me.
baseballdad Posted October 20, 2006 #25 Share Posted October 20, 2006 If you work for a living, how are you supposed to have time to look at that many boards?? And Who with ANSWERS would be looking over there? Makes no sense at all!
