celebrity888 Posted October 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2006 Question to any passengers who had onboard credit on the QM2: Are there any restrictions as to how to spend the credit? Can you spend it in the casino or use towards gratuities? Would appreciated feedback of experiences from previous QM2 cruisers.
imacruizer Posted October 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2006 Just returned from the QM2 and had onboard credit. You can definitely use it for gratituties, spa treatments, drinks, etc. It just appears on your statement and your expenses are deducted from your credit. I'm not sure about the casino. Sorry. Do check your statement early in the cruise to make sure your onboard credit is shown. It is much easier to correct it, if you catch it early. Enjoy the ship. She is lovely!!! Cornus Posted October 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2006 I had an on board credit on my cruise last month and the gratuities were deducted from that credit. I'm pretty sure that it cannot be used in the casino.
molly361 Posted October 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2006 Yes, this credit gets applied towards all onboard purchases- If this credit was given to you by Cunard make sure to spend it all - no refunds- Our first QM2 cruise we had $100 credit from Cunard and had another $400 (guessing at exact figure) in credit that we had put in advance on our account- At the end of the cruise we still had credit of around $50 which they did not want to give back to us- they said that was part of Cunard's credit- We got it in the end but now we make sure that we never end up with a credit at cruise end. Hi Molly, Thanks for your feedback. Did you by any chance use any of your credit in the casino? I love the slot machines and usually spend a happy hour there before dinner in lieu of pre-dinner drinks as I don't drink alcohol. Regards, Celebrity I have read on the RCL board that you can go to the casino and withdraw the money. Don't know if it works on Cunard.
molly361 Posted October 26, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2006 Hi Molly, Did you by any chance use any of your credit in the casino? No we did not, but I think most lines allow you to take money out in the casino and put it on your account- some charge a small service fee for that option
CruiseShelly Posted October 26, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 26, 2006 We each had $125.00 on-board credit for the 3 July sailing. I asked the purser's desk for a printout of my account the second day and it was on there already, so it ended up just deducting off my entire bill at the end. Easy to do when the gratuities are on that bill, and some drinks get charged!!! I don't have any experience whether it works in the casino.
