Our ship leaves at 5pm so we want to go early to normandy and then return by 2pm to board. thoughts? cinnamon Posted June 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2004 Jeff, the crossings to Normandy are from Portsmouth or Southampton. They are long crossings of over 4 hours on ferries. Even on the fast speed SeaCat they take over 2 1/2 hours I think. From Dover you can only cross to Calais, which takes about an hour.
