Restricted items out of Buenos Aires?

We are flying from Buenos Aires to the U.S. (direct flight) after our cruise. Can anyone advise on any liquid or other restrictions? Are they the same as in the U.S. (not more than 3 ounces of liquid allowed in carry-ons), or is it more relaxed there?

Thanks!

Check with your airline. Since you are flying direct to the US, I would think that US rules would apply.

We returned from EZE via AA. The restrictions applied not only going thru security but also at the gate. So, once you are inside the secured area and buying a water or other liquid to take on the plane, it will be confiscated at another gate security check just prior to boarding. There was a lot of half full water and soda bottles left behind. If you buy a duty free liquor it will be allowed and be given to you at the plane door. BUT, if you are connecting in the US you have to reclear security without that liquor so you have to pack it in your checked luggage just prior to rechecking your bags after customs. None of this is told to you beforehand. I think it would affect the income received by the airport businesses or the dutyfree sales on the aircraft.

When you leave Buenos Aires I highly recommend getting to the airport early. Most of the flights back to the United States leave at night. Check with your alrline to see what time the ticket counter opens. Whe you get to near the ticket counter you will be asked some questions and given tickets from an agent, then you go to the ticket counter to get boarding passes, deposit luggage, etc. then you go to another area to pay your airport exit fee, then you go to another area for securing and if I remember one additional area for security so give yourself plenty of time to get there.

We just returned from Santiago after the Dec 17 Infinity cruise, and didn't have to pay anything at the airport.

You only pay an entry fee in Chile if you arrive by air. Cruises that end in Valparaiso have no entry fee or departure fee.

Argentina has no entry fee, but has a departure fee.

Cruising from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso results in no fees!

The reverse direction has fees at both ends!
