spaceflower77 Posted October 13, 2008 #2701 Share Posted October 13, 2008 The Panorama deck does have an observation deck forward. I think this is a great deck, especially for a family. You will be close to Camp Carnival, the Lido pools and slide, and the gym. The gym has large private multi-head showers. This can be a real time-saver for dad and/or a son to use while the ladies dress in the cabin.;) Fantastic idea... THANKS!
AmberMarie Posted October 15, 2008 #2702 Share Posted October 15, 2008 This might be old news, but I thought some people may be interested in seeing a video of the "secret area" on the Conquest. I'm not sure if it's THE secret area, but it was definitely one of them. You had to walk all the way forward on either the fifth or sixth floor, I can't remember. Down the cabin hallways and to a door that said, "Caution, high winds."

yst347 Posted October 16, 2008 #2708 Share Posted October 16, 2008 Monday night is the Captain's Party. Thursday night after sailing from Grand Cayman is the second formal night. We have sailed during Halloween before. Carnival doesn't make a huge deal out of the holiday but there should be some themed events held. Some passengers and many crew will wear costumes. EastTexans2 Posted October 16, 2008 #2710 Share Posted October 16, 2008 lisalisa........We are in east Texas - Winnsboro, north of Tyler. I bought some Halloween tee shirts but we're not taking costumes. Are you driving straight down to the port? We always stop in the Conroe area and then drive to the port in the morning. Schnitztx Posted October 30, 2008 #2717 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Hubby and I are travelling without our children this time and were wondering about the two formal nights... are they really suit and tie? The last two times we were on carnival were Esctasy and Holiday and the formal nights were no where NEAR formal. Should hubby bring a suit? Will a jacket suffice or just a shirt and tie. Thoughts?? Also, what's the real "dish" (hahaha) on the supper club? The menu doesn't look that different from the typical dining room offering? Is it just more private? Again... thoughts would be appreciated! See you on the 9th! Debi
dlw67401 Posted October 30, 2008 #2718 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Hello. My wife and I are leaving on our 1st cruise on the Conquest on Nov. 2nd. We were wondering about formal nights. What is the dress code? Will a dress shirt and tie work?
honestokiechic Posted October 30, 2008 #2719 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Here is what it says on the Carnival site. Hope this helps!!! Is there a dress code for the dining room?Depending on the length of the cruise, either formal dress or casual resort wear is required in the Dining Room. The dress requirement for children is the same. For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido restaurants are open nightly (with the exception of the last evening of the cruise), and have a casual dress code. Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs). Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, and sleeveless shirts for men. Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too! Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats. nanuak Posted October 30, 2008 #2722 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Hello. My wife and I are leaving on our 1st cruise on the Conquest on Nov. 2nd. We were wondering about formal nights. What is the dress code? Will a dress shirt and tie work? Come join our Roll Call, we are pretty active, especially now we are so close to sail away. Since the Conquest will be repositioning from Bayport to Galveston, the embarkation will be later than normal. I believe that sail-away is now around 6:30PM, and with the time change it will actually feel like 7:30PM :( (fall back, spring forward).
yst347 Posted October 30, 2008 #2723 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Where is THE secret area? :o The "secret" areas are the forward observation decks. You can access them by walking to the front of the ship on decks 6,7,9 or 10. You will see a door that says "caution high winds", go on out and enjoy. Barefoot Sailor Girl Posted November 5, 2008 #2724 Share Posted November 5, 2008 Does anyone know if you're allowed to bring fruit on board if you purchase it in port? I know you can't take it off the ship when you return to Galveston. I was thinking about buying some fresh fruit in Jamaica to eat during the rest of the week. You can get all the fruit you want in the Cezanne. They have whole fresh apples, oranges, sometimes kiwi, banannas, etc. Look for the baskets of fruit.;)
