Hey, I was reading a Conquest trip review, and they mentioned they stayed at the Howard Johnson's in Galveston pre-cruise. They will let you park there for free if you stay one night! Has anyone tried this? How do you get from the hotel to the port? Do they have shuttles?

We will be aboard the Conquest in April and I want to do a tour with Native Way in Grand Cayman. I am a bit confused with the time. Move your clock back, forward, daylight savings and all. Ship arrives in port at 7am and leaves at 4pm. Native way says tour departs pier at 8:30am central time and arrives back at pier at 1:45pm central time.

 

My question is whether the ship time is the same as Native Way's time. If it is, I will have plenty of time. It would be nice to have an hour or so to check out the town also. Can anyone clear this time thing up for me?:confused:

Add Boy, I was trying to put the myspace countdown clock into my signature and I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get it to work?? Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? I finally got one to work the one off of these boards. I just wanted something different and can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Can you help me out here? I was doing it the same way as I didn the one on the cc countdown clock. But, the myspace one I can't figure out and I am doing it the same way as the one I got to work. HELP ME PLEASE!

ADD Boy, how did you get the myspace countdown to work? I have had no luck in figuring it out. I finally just put the one up from this CC countdown and it worked. Could you help me out on to what I am doing wrong? I did it the same way and just can make it work. I see that you got it to work so if you don't mind to help me out to what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

I saw someone else's myspace clock, hit the link below the clock, and set up mine. I copied all the html code at the bottom of the page after I put in all my dates and such (in the box that says HTML code) and pasted it into my signature here.

 

I still can't see anyone's CC countdown clocks; I have to click on the url and the actual clock opens up in a separate window, is that your experience?

As long as it's daylight savings time in Galveston, you don't have to change your clock or watch for Jamaica and Grand Cayman - they don't observe DST.

Remember the USA changes time in early March. Once this happens, ship time will match Jamaica and Cayman Island time, but not Cozumel as Mexico does not change time until early April. During these few weeks the Conquest will be one hour ahead of local time in Cozumel.

no! I did the same thing you are talking about. I clicked on yours and got through it all and copied and pasted I don't think I did it in both places. I will have to try that and see. Don't know why its not working for me.

 

Okay, I just added ANOTHER countdown clock! I hit the myspace link, configured the time, hit the Get HTML Code link, copied the generated code, pasted it into my Signature (after I went to User CP of course) and then saved the new signature. Still no luck, love2sale?

Which is better EZ Parking or Lighthouse Parking? Security?

We use lighthouseparking.org mainly b/c they have Security personel that stays onsite 24hrs. & also when possible LightHouse, can get you onboard the ship early.

Well, I don't know what else to advise; are you using MS Internet Explorer, or Firefox, or Safari?

My husband and I are considering this cruise for 2009 since we live in Texas. Has anyone stayed in a balcony room on this ship and which deck do you prefer?

We stayed on deck 6 Balcony. Convenient location. Casino is on deck 5 where we spent most of our time. This time we will be on Lido with balcony. Closer to the food.:) Having a balcony is great. I like having a quiet space all to myself to go to.

We have been on the Conquest 3 times. We had balconies on deck 6, 7, and lido near the evevators. All are great locations.
