new2cruise1 Posted January 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Deciding on where to cruise. Is it safe to do a cruise to the Caribbean in August?? We are traveling with my husband and my parents in the late 70's. Thank you, Judy
Giorgi-one Posted January 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2007 We cruise almost every August. Currently have cruise booked for 8/4/07. Ships will not sail into or near a hurricane. One suggestion - Travel at least one or two days precruise in case hurricane affects your ability to get to Embarkation port (particularly if you live on East coast or Gulf coast). serene56 Posted January 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2007 A lot of our cruises happen the last week in AUgust. We have a group heading out on the Carnival Liberty on August 26th. (for information check out the link below.) August is hurricane season--just be aware that ports can change. so have a plan B just in case.
