suezyq50 Posted January 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Many will have on what they wear onto the ship, as luggage might not make it to your cabin by dinner time. You will see capris, sundresses, etc. Guys in polos, probably t's.
Rare Lois R Posted January 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Hi,:) you might want to be a bit more specific. Are you talking about the day you sail? Or for dinner? Or both? Sailaway I usually wear shorts and a top with a pair of sandals. I put a change of clothes for dinner in my carry on. I am one of those folks who wants to shower and change before dinner, even on the first night. I usually pack a skirt and top...or slacks and top....usually something unwrinklable:D in the Chico's or Citiknits material. Very easy to pack and you can dress it up or down. oops, you said the evening...sorry! That is in my last paragraph:)
Farmerlaine Posted January 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2007 It will be warmish, so definitely no parka. Haha, canadian joke. But maybe stick with capris or pants and flat shoes for the first night till you get used to the movement of the boat again. You'd hate to have the ship move and you not move with it, and fall over in a dress and heels! Wear a sparkly shirt or something similar for dinner with your pants and glam it up as much as possible. However, on our cruise, there were plenty of women dressed exceptionally well the first night, I still don't know how some of them survived in heels when they were looking pretty green... Happy travels! Elaine
Pisces11 Posted January 28, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2007 That is exactly what I do Lois. I have some very nice pieces accumulated over the years of Chico's travel line including capris. They roll very nicely and take up very little room in my suitcase. Everything sold at Chico's out here, always goes on sale and when you combine it with the coupons they send you, you can get wonderful bargains. They are just starting to show their light weight pants in the stores.

I have flown to CALIF twice before to take cruises and have always done quite well with my packing. This time I want to do even better:D I have lots of outfits in that wonderful material..whether from Coldwater Creek, Chicos or Citiknits! I am going to check my closet, and other than my formal wear, I am going to see about bringing all of those outfits for casual and informal nights! Bet it will be easy as pie to pack!!!:)
