Hi Is this a good area?

What about a cat 11 Deck 11.

What's up with the catagorys they are all inside so what is the difference besides the deck?

Please help

We were on the Gem in March. My hubby and I had a AF mini suite on deck 11 and our boys were across the hall in an II inside cabin. The inside cabin was extremely small, fine for two people who like each other :) My boys did not kill each other after the week, so it was ok. I don't think there was any difference in cabins, they are just more expensive on the higher decks. However, deck 11 was a fantastic location. Very close to all the action.

The Gem is a great ship and do try everything - restaurants, bars, casino, clubs, the bowling alley and rock climbing. Awesome!

My daughter and I were in D118...Mini-suite on the Golden Princess. We loved the room and balcony, but directly across the hall was the service door for the workers. We heard their swinging door flapping ALL night long and they came in and out! They were talking and laughing, and worse yet...every time the door opened cigarette smoke would come into the hall and right under our door. It took me a few days and a phone call to find out why we kept getting cigarette smell in our room and they told me it was fromt he service area....it came right under our door!! The ship was full so we could not move and they told me to put a towel on the bottom of the door to keep the smoke out. It worked only while we were in the cabin....if we were gone for a few hours we came back to a smelly room. Now that I know what to look for, I will never book a cabin near a service entrance again.

you wont hear nothing from the casino. you do have a connecting cabin-- I'd be more worried about being next to 4 kids in a room.

I am tired of scrolling through 71 plus pages looking for any advice on Cabin 1570 on the Voyager of the Seas (RCL). Has anyone stayed in this cabin?

Starting your own thread may get you more answers about that cabin. :)

We were on the Carnival Valor last year - balcony 6th deck in about the middle, and this year Destiny - balcony ~8276. Both times there was some BOOM, BOOM, BOOM of a bass - some kind of entertainment that went on until 2 or 3 in the morning every night. I never said anything, but I should have. Anyone have a suggestion where the better rooms are located.

deck 7--empress deck

You want to avoid the deck 6-- odd #rooms mid ship-= there is a band that sets up across from the casiono bar-- and they dont start playing til after 9pm each night.

Your cabin on the Destiny is located under the buffet- -its carpeted so you shouldnt hear nothing-- but if you can move down to empress --same area-- you will have a better experience

We just got an upgrade to Plaza deck p303 cabin.(Golden Princess) I love the location being on that deck midship but it's directly below the casino. Do you think we will hear the machines or people walking? Anyone ever been below a casino?

We just booked 10 night panama canal for 11/07/08. We have cruised a number of times, always 7 days, but never had a balcony cabin before. It is my 50th birthday so we decided to splurge. Anyone know anything about this cabin? Veiw, Noise, etc.? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

if you can move down one deck to the empress deck it would be better. Cabins above and below and no worry about public noise.

Your cabin is located under the buffet area--which is carpeted so no worry about noise from that area anyways.

If you want a bigger balcony for the same price--go take one across the back..

Do not book a cabin just below the "Movies under the Stars". We had such a cabin on our Princess Cruise in January. It was our 9th cruise and the worst vacation of our lives. We love to sit out on our balcony in the evening. We could not do this on this trip. The door to our balcony vibrated constantly and so did the walls in our room. The first day out after our sleepless night we thought we could catch a nap, but guess what? They also have movies under the sun!!! I complained at the Purser's desk and was told someone would call. No one did. So the next day I complained again and someone was sent to our cabin. Nothing was ever done about the noise. When we arrived back home, I contacted our travel agent and she gave me an address for Princess and I wrote to complain. They sent us $400 credit for another cruise.
