Pocono Posted February 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2007 It is 12:40 p.m. San Juan time. Our paperwork has a little conflicting info. One paper says boarding starts 1:00 p.m. the other says 2:00 p.m. We would like to avoid hugh crowds if possible we were thinking of going to port about 2:30. Any suggestions??? Rare Coral Posted February 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2007 It is difficult to predict crowds as buses from the airports can come at any time. I would go anytime after 12 pm.
Twinsmomct Posted February 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2007 What's the earliest one can drop off luggage at the ship? I'd like to drop off our stuff and then go explore OSJ. Thanks! Patty
jak378 Posted February 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2007 On 1/20 we arrived at the pier at about 11:00. People were still disembarking and the porters were busy with them, about 10 minutes later, the porters were available, and took our luggage. We were allowed inside about 11:30, and they started checking people in about 11:50. We were able to actually board about 12:30. Hope that helps. Colo Cruiser Posted February 4, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2007 I say board as early as possible, as soon as the porters start taking luggage do that and go explore, or board get situated then get off and go explore. :D I would not want to carry luggage around or worry about it all day. ;)
KCKC Posted February 4, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2007 We sailed 1/27 on the Crown and arrived at the pier around 9am and dropped our luggage at a place Called "Audio _ _ _" directly across from the pier for I believe $3/bag. Then went to tour El Morro fort...returned around 12pm to begin embarkation process and ended up in very long lines and did'nt get on board until after 1pm. It's hard to predict crowds but if you wish to avoid any lines I'd suggest arriving anytime after 1pm..
