taxmantoo Posted February 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2007 I have seen many mentions of smoking on the balconies annoying passengers in the neighbouring balconies. As a non-smoker, I can see this could pose a problem. I imagine the problem diminishes the closer you are to the front of the ship you are as less cabins can actually be blowing smoke your way. Are the common rooms (Princess Theater, lounges like Crooners or Explorers and the casino) also subject to heavy smoke smells? Does the CB have any non-smoking lounges? Is there smoking in the dining rooms or the Horizon Court?
from the desert Posted February 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2007 “Smoking, Drinking and Gaming. Smoking is allowed in passenger staterooms, balconies and most public rooms, but the show lounges and dining rooms and all food service areas onboard all Princess ships are non-smoking.”
roe2ship Posted February 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2007 The theatre, dining rooms and Horizon Court are non smoking areas. The only lounge that I recall is completely smoke free is Explorer's Lounge. Club Fusion has designated smoking areas in the back and I also believe a small section of tables right next to Crooners have a smoking section. manmtnmike Posted February 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2007 Just off CB - it had to be the best cruise re. the lack of smoke. Not sure why that is.
Cruisin' Chick Posted February 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Our major complaint about the design of the Island Princess is that the grand atrium tends to be fairly smoky. There's smoking allowed in Crooner's on one side and in the same area is the cigar lounge Churchills, which lets out the stinky smell of cigars, every time someone opens the doors. CrusinAgain Posted February 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2007 We spent every evening at Crooners Lounge listening to Bert Stratton and there was no smoking. The only time we saw or smelt smoke was in the casino and in passing Church Hill's. Not bad at all.
tequilasunrise Posted February 7, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Club Fusion has designated smoking areas in the back Dang, Club Fusion used to be the only smoke free venue (well, it was in a separate room downstairs so it worked) besides the Princess theatre where they have the cheesy shows  I am SOOOO diappointed to hear that. It seems like there could be at least one lounge on a ship that size that could be nonsmoking, so everyone could listen to music or comedy while breathing their choice of air or toxins---sections are worthless as smoke does not obediently stay where it is supposed to
gopher's girl Posted February 7, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2007 When I was on the CB, the nightclub on top of the ship was half smoking, half non-smoking... the dance floor was pretty much the divider. Not sure if it is still that way or not.
