Appleton Estate Rum Tour in Mo Bay

Has anyone ever taken this excursion? We will be on the Conquest in April and are considering taking this excursion. We know it's a long drive on a bus but we thought it would be a nice, safe way to see the country. Plus we enjoy "road trips"!

We would appreciate any information. Thanks

There is lots of info and reviews about it on the Bahamas board, none of the port information is kept in this forum....

I looked through the Port of Call - Jamaica (Montego Bay not Bahamas) thread and found no information about this excursion. So my thought was, folks checking the Carnival thread may have taken this excursion, since it's offered through Carnival, and could give us their experience.

...sorry Jamaica, not sure where you were looking, here are some threads from the Jamaica board about it - some are reviews, some recommendations on guides, and there are lots more:

We have been to Jamaica three times un the past 5 years. Next April I will be there once again.

We hire barrett adventures for all of our tour needs. We are paying 65.00 pp to enjoy the YS Waterfalls, tubing,Appleton Rum Factory Stop and end our day at Margarittaville in Mobay.

Carolyn married a native Jamaican over 20 years ago. She knows the history of the islands just like a local. Allof her vehicles are air conditioned and excellently maintained. Carolyn is also sponsored by the JTB Jamaican Toursit Board.

Your question about Appleton.....The tour begins with a short film introducing you to the history of Appleton. Then you will go outside to see how the sugar cane was originally pressed, then the barrel room and back inside for some tasting. I would recommend staying away fromt he Over Proof Rum.....it is our version of white lightening.

When are you planning your trip next April....we are on the 4-20-08 cruise???
