Alaska Immigration / Customs Question

Looking at sailing from Vancouver Canada for an Alaska Inside Passage cruise next summer. We are Canadian citizens. Where do you actually go through U.S. Border Security? On boarding in Vancouver or when you dock in the different Alaska areas? Do you actually have to go through the Immigration scenario if you never get off the ship?

You do Customs and Immigration in Vancouver, US on departure and Canadian on return if a 7 day round trip . Make sure that (Again if on a 7 day round trip) that you properly declare all purcahses aboard teh ship, especially iif they are "big ticket items." Canada Customs gets a list from the ship and they will be watching and waiting for you!
