spirit class help please

I have never been on a spirit class ship(only conquest and whatever the Elation and Fascination are) , I have seen from the pictures how some of the cabins are indented. We are debating between and inside or balcony are are wondering is it better to be "inside" the indented part or the part that sticks out(balcony wise) That is hard tp explain but you know what I mean :)

what do you like about the spirt class or dislike and where is the Camp Carnival?

We were in an aft wrap suite, but took a look at the other cabins at debarkation. The balconies where you call the indented part can not look straight down to the water. This is like this for the life boats. The rest of the cabins are flush with the side of the ship so you have a better view down to the water. The Spirit class ships are IMO very easy to navigate.

The "indented" staterooms have a 50% larger balcony than the others. I'm giving this larger balcony staterooms a try on our upcoming cruise.

 

I suppose my only concern is reduced privacy... but not a big deal, really. I'll know better after the cruise.

Yes they are all extended balcony cabins, on the Miracle anyways, except for the 5a and 7a, which aren't balcony cabins. Not necesarily worth it though depending on the cabin location because of the sight line issues, not only looking down from the balcony, but looking left and right towards the front and back of the ship, especially if your cabin is right next to the reg cat 8 section the sticks out an additional amount. Not a huge deal, but something to think about.

The Spirit Class of ships is definatly easier to navigate, however I found thay I had to walk through the casino on a regular basis. We has an extended balcony. The only downfall is that when you look down you are looking at lifeboats, but the extra space was worth it. As for Camp Carnival, for kids younger than teens I really can't answer this question, but I will say the ship was kind of rocky where the Camp Carnival room was. The teen program was asically non-exstiant. We had nothing to do after 11:00pm. On the Miracle, there is no where designated for teens.

On Pride E6232 was the best!! For us anyway, it had an extended balcony that was soooo spacious! We loved it and will always get that one again.

We are on the Spirit to Alaska in a category 8I, #8183 on the Panorama deck. This is an extended balcony, but it appears to indent in. Anyone familiar with this room and what type of view we would have from the balcony?

If you go in the indented area over the life boats....try to get in the center of the indent, this will increase your field of view (forward and aft)......I read where someone was too far back in the indent and really felt like the view was obstructed when they looked back because they were close to the part that wasn't indented and saw more of that part of the ship. The same would apply if you were to far forward....your forward view could be less. I had 3 of these balconies booked and down graded myself to the non-indent part down friom the stack.......it was wonderful. FOR US...the deeper balcony isn't as important as unobstructed view (down, forward or aft).

 

I love this ship....was home for less than a week before I was booked to go back.

Like I mentioned to the other person......you will have a great view forward and out, but could possibly have and obstructed feeling when looking aft, because you are only one cabin short of where the indent ends.

 

IN NO WAY am I saying that this is an obstructed category cabin........I'm just mentioning a point that someone mentioned before here on CC. And it's a point that I feel is a valid one. Thousands cruise in these cabins or some just like them and this one poster seemed to be unhappy (probably in the minority)............it's a matter of perssonel opinion and for me, I don't think I'd be happy with it....but thats just me.

 

She's a beautiful, easy and comfortable class ship....you will enjoy it!!!

I booked the Triumph for my first because I thought the design was cool.........and I too thought the Miracle looked Strange.

 

I loved the Triumph and It got me to want more...........but I LOVE the Miracle..................beautiful ship, with most of the things the bigger ones have, but a more comfortable feeling and it handles the number of people well. And an easy to navigate deck plan.

We've sailed on the Elation, Pride, Spirit and Miracle with our next scheduled on the Triumph. My husband was yearning for some variety in our ships! Liked all of them very much, but I think at this point I'd say we enjoyed the Spirit the most- of course until the next cruise - the one I'm on is always my favorite! :D
