Guarantee vs. Choosing Cabin.....

When I go to Carnival website and "pretend" to book a cruise, it is the same price for a guarantee as it is to choose a cabin. Is this always the case? I thought a guarantee was typically cheaper?

Each time I try this the GUAR is less than an assigned cabin. :confused: Is there a particular cruise you're pricing? Maybe others could try it and we can see what happens.

When I try it..the guarantee is less than the assigned cabin unless you choose the upper lower assigned.

I get $579 for both 1A and for 1S (Inside guarantee) is that what you mean.

 

The 1A only shows 2 port hole cabins left to choose from 2211 and 2217. The 1A you have the choice of either picking guarantee or picking your cabin.

 

Outside shows $699 for outside guarantee.

 

1A and inside guarantee cabins were the same price on my cruise too but I choose a certain week so I could get a certain 1A that was posted here, curiousity killed the cat.

I was looking at a Cat 8 balcony cabin Upper Deck.

I get $869 for a balcony guarantee, best deal since inside is so high, smart decision.

 

I get $969 for a 8A where you can pick your cabin. (the 8A to pick from are all on the Upper deck).

I tried just now, got $869 GUAR (BL), and $969 assigned 8A, as well. Maybe give them a call and see what the deal is...good luck ;)
