Cruise Passenger Posted March 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2007 I am going on my first RCL cruise. Tell me about Johnny Rockets. I also know about Quest. What else is unique to RCL or something not to miss
Atlanta CruzNut Posted March 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Johnny Rockets is a fun place for burgers, fries & a milkshake. It is a 50's style diner atmosphere and the staff is dressed like "carhops" from that era. It is a fun place to eat and kids & teens also love it. Luey Posted March 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Is Johnny Rockets on all RCI ships?
Mocorobabe Posted March 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2007 No Johnny Rockets is not on all ships. It is on the Voyager class ships (big ones). I should tell you there is a cover charge to get in. I'm sorry I forget the cost. We went one time and one time only. Since we've been on lots of Caribbean cruises we get in free, and although we are "young-at-heart" oldsters it was too loud for us. Others think it's GREAT. UKGirl Posted March 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Dont forget the $3.95 service charge for Jonny Rockets everytime you eat in there.
isujim Posted March 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Eating at Johnny Rockets is something I guess you have to do once..........but not worth it IMO........
jtwisconsin Posted March 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2007 The kids liked Johnny Rockets on Majesty, and the burgers and shakes were very good. I don't think we will go there without the kids though.
Inshape Posted March 18, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Without the crown and anchor coupon to get in with no cover charge it is hardly worth it. There is so much other food on the ship....
andyjo0930 Posted March 18, 2007 #9 Share Posted March 18, 2007 We have cruised three times (will be 4 in 7 weeks) on RCI and they have a belly flop contest (usually last sea day) that is hysterical. My girlfriend's husband one it one year and my husband won it the next year and placed 2nd the year after... they also have a men's sexy leg competition. Seeing these old men strutt around and dance is so funny. You wouldn't believe the people who enter these contests... lol THey have a lot of pool activities, volleyball tournements and stuff like that, and a lot of trivia games. Just check your Cruise Compass and they will let you know what is going on. (for new cruises, that is the cruise newsletter that you will receive every night and it will tell you what is going on the next day - port of call, drink of the day, activities, what not)
cruiseguy1016 Posted March 18, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 18, 2007 The "Love and Marriage" game is usually quite funny. It's held in the theater one night.

cruiseguy1016 Posted March 18, 2007 #12 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Cruise Passenger - It looks like you'll be on the Rhapsody. There is no Johnny Rockets on the Rhapsody.
sunsetbeachgal Posted March 18, 2007 #13 Share Posted March 18, 2007 ONe more thing...the $3.95 does not include a beverage (except a glass of water!)...milkshakes were a few dollars more and cokes were $1.75 (I think)...so if you are a family it can add up...IMHO the atmosphere is fun, but the food is so, so at best...the burgers did not taste like the JR's here...next time we will stick with the buffet! DivineDivia Posted March 18, 2007 #14 Share Posted March 18, 2007 There is one across the street from my house. I didn't like their milkshakes, but I did like the rootbeer float. Do they have the rootbear floats on the ships?

Do they have the rootbear floats on the ships? Yes they did have floats but again that cost extra. I can't remember how much since we ordered beer. elleluv Posted March 18, 2007 #16 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Whenever we go to JR, I NEED to have one of their Cherry Cokes... They have the fountain soda that they add the flavors to... NUMMMY!! :D

WhenIsOurNextCruise Posted March 20, 2007 #18 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Brad, Since you live in Pearland, come on up to Houston! We have a Johnny Rockets at I-10 and Silber and another at Katy Mills Mall. I really didn't care for it and wouldn't visit one on a ship unless I was traveling with kids. scsunlover Posted March 20, 2007 #19 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Returned from Mariner cruise yesterday - first cruise and we're hooked! DEFINITELY try Chops and/or Portofino's - BEST STEAK IN LIFE! Well worth the 20.00 per person cover for an incredible experience!:o :o :o ICE SHOW - don't miss!:o Pool Deck "fun" things are great (funny) to watch. Line dancing and belly flops good :) Paul is an excellent bartender - the Bud Light buckets (5 for 20.00) kept my husband happy. Me - I loved the bartenders at the Champagne Bar (tho' they rotate every 2 weeks i understand) named Ischmel and Patricia. Amazing that they remember your "preferences" and tsrive to make you happy. Art Auction - ugh ... of course, I wasn't really in the mood to buy art. Love and Marriage - it's funny - try to stay up and go. HAVE FUN!!!
