KVR Posted April 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2007 So, after our tour, we thought of heading to the new Margaritaville for lunch, but after reading the disappointing thread decided not to. We still want to just check it out and get some pictures, but where is a good place to eat in that area? Also how is Sr. Frogs in GC?
drew sailbum Posted April 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2007 For more local fare, try Corita's Cooper Kettle on Edward Street, or have a cab drop you at Champion House on Eastern Avenue. Both have good food at reasonable prices.
cruisingtodive Posted April 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2007 Also how is Sr. Frogs in GC? Did you mean Senior Frogs in Cozumel? I found that place to be pushy, expensive, and annoying if your weren't drunk. The shot waiter kept trying to push shots on my 15 & 16 year old, while we were sitting at the table and after saying "no" 5 times! I always like to eat on the ship, it is already paid for. KVR Posted April 8, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted April 8, 2007 I understand there is a Sr. Frogs in Grand Cayman as well as Cozumel. Is that correct?
drew sailbum Posted April 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2007 Yes. There is a Señor Frogs in Grand Cayman. It is on Fort Street, and is an easy walk from the tender docks.
Rare hcat Posted April 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Sr Frogs is a crowded, loud place-- We ate in a very nice restaurant across the street from Sr Frogs called Bacchus. Great menu from burgers to real food/wine list . lovely service & environment. Not overly expensive... No view--except of Sr frogs but it is a convenient walk from the cruise ship port. highcard Posted April 11, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2007 We ate at margaritaville last week while in Grand Cayman and had a lot of fun! We thought it was very entertaining for everyone in our group (yes we had kids and they loved dancing and doing the macarana) had a great time, lots of laughs, I recommend it! workn2cruise Posted April 17, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2007 We enjoyed Breezes when we were there last May, really good food and a great view of the ocean. Its right across the street from the tender dock and on the second floor.
onehotmomof2 Posted May 2, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 2, 2007 Coconut Joe's. Good food, love their chicken fajita's and their nacho's. A really cool set up. The seats at the bar area are rope swings, the tree in the middle of the outside eating area is over a 100 years old. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it. Have fun. KVR Posted May 4, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted May 4, 2007 Well, we're back from our cruise and went to Margaritaville anyway, as our port time was very limited after our tour on the Aqua Boats, and we wanted to stay close to the pier. It was terribly crowded especially in the merchandies store, but we were quickly seated in the dining area. There was a MC directing games with the patrons for free drinks or T-shirts. We had 2 cheeseburgers, which were good, with fries, 1 Corona and 1 small house margarita for $60.00. Ouch! Had a decent time, but if we ever get to Grand Cayman again, we would definatly skip it. twinkletoes4445 Posted May 5, 2007 #13 Share Posted May 5, 2007 Just in case anyone is interested...I found the post I posted with the Hard Rock menu. I do think there were more things on the menu, but this is all that was listed in the delivery service brochure. Below the HR menu is the Breezes menu. Ask for the "bar" menu in addition to the regular menu. The bar menu had lots of things that the regular one didn't have...and also smaller portions...or things without the side dishes. Just remember that most restaurants and bars will add the tip to the bill...although some didn't. Make sure and take a good look at your bill before adding a tip. We double-tipped once without realizing this. We really enjoyed Breezes about the best. We loved Coconut Joe's but you really need a car to get there...or take a cab. Our condo was right across the street, so we ate at CJ's many times...and enjoyed it a lot. The prices posted are in CD. Hard Rock Cafe Santa Fe Spring Rolls- $8.95 Potato Skins-$8.95 Chicken Tenders-$9.95 Haystack Chicken Salad-$12.95 Onion Rings-$6.95 Twisted Mac & Cheese-$13.95 Blackened Chicken Pasta-$13.95 Jerk Chicken Sandwich-$9.50 BLT-$9.50 Chicken Club-$10.95 Cajun Chicken Sandwich-$10.95 Grilled chicken Fajitas-$18.95 Bacon Cheeseburger-$10.95 BBQ Ribs-$26.25 Grilled Chicken Breast-$13.95 Here's the menu from Breezes... The bar menu isn't listed, but I remember they offered the following... Coconut Shrimp (without the rice & peas, shoestring veggies and cornbread-it was $9.95, I believe. With the above items is on the regular menu). Three small cheeseburgers (I think this came with fries.) Crab cakes Chicken Fingers And a few other things, but I don't remember exactly. The bar menu had smaller portions or fewer side items on the menu. More sandwich/snack type things. Regular Menu Mango Greens...$8.25 Big Caesar with bacon 'n' garlic toast...$8.25 Cayman style conch Fritters & spicy Island dipping sauce...$6.25 Half pound, Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp! steamed in "Breezes Brew"...$10.95 Crispy Calamari "Misto" with Cho Cho & Pumpkin...$8.25 Curried Caribbean Samosas with yogurt "Raita" (mild) & firecracker jelly (hot)for dipping....$7.95 Classic Caribbean Crab Cakes...$9.25 House smoked Caribbean BBQ Ribs...$8.25 Cayman Conch Chowder bread Bowl with Bacon Crumbles...$6.25 Fresh Mussels! hubofhockey Posted May 5, 2007 #14 Share Posted May 5, 2007 If you are posting Breezes prices from their menu, those are Cayman dollars. US prices are 25% more. Still a great take for lunch but costs a little more.

Still a great take for lunch but costs a little more. I mentioned that it was in CD in my post. :) When we were there, there was a 20% difference. It was that way the entire week...so I don't know how often this changes.
twinkletoes4445 Posted May 6, 2007 #16 Share Posted May 6, 2007 I forgot to add...it was a little bit more, but like you, we enjoyed the meals. :) We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony of Breezes and watching the ships leave port.
