Non-Gambling Games

I don't Gamble. However, I really enjoy board games and some card games (like Speed-Scrabble and Dirty-Uno).

After reading about the card rooms in the casino, I got to wondering if there were games too for non-gamblers? And if not, whether there were board games or card decks available so that people could set up their own games?

I recall seeing folks playing cards on all of our cruises. Whether it was a self-started game or ship sponsored, I don't know! You could always stick a deck of cards in your luggage (they will fit in a shoe, and take up no room!) just so you will have them if needed.

I know that on Radiance class ships there are a variety of board games available in the card room and I suspect that the same is true on most other RCI vessels. We always bring our cribbage board with us.

i have seen people play pool side or in one of the lounges. I would definitely bring a deck of cards. I saw a group one time playing in the hot tub. One of them had laminated the cards at work.

Thanks very much! I think I'll bring this up on the Roll Call thread for my cruise, and see if anyone else is interested. Then I can bring my own games and know which ones to bring. :D

On our last Radiance cruise they had a game area that had chess, checkers, monopoly, life, risk, cribbage, uno, cards, chutes and ladders, candyland, bolderdash, and a few others. And no I did not play every game but they really had alot of choices...TAZ

on the voyager there was a room (deck 13 or 14) that had a stack of board games available for people to play. we went up there one night, were the only ones in there, and had an awesome view out the floor to ceiling windows in that room.

in the Library. My MIL was playing a game and I asked her where she got it and she said " you can get them in the library" I think you need to see the person there and sign it out. IShe said they have a bunch of different games too.

That sounds lovely! We'll be on Voyager too. Do you by chance remember which games they had?

These sound really great, and if I don't have to bring along a bunch of games that would save room in my luggage. I doubt that we'll be playing most of the time, but if there is bad weather or we aren't interested in the evening activities, I can see us going to play a game.

So the games were in good shape? No parts missing, etc.?

Most cruise lines have a trivia game on a daily basis. I've seen many games in the library areas too. I'm kind of a nerd and always check out the library. On the Costa cruise, they had a "horse race" at the pool a couple of afternoons. I don't bet either, but it was fun to watch and cheer on the "horses".

Also, most cruise lines have interesting demonstrations and classes such as cooking, napkin folding, scrapbooking and even juggling.

They also have some fun contest you can participate in or watch, like the Newlywed Game.

The Radiance class ships have many games too. It was in my favorite part of the ship, however, I am having a complete black out and can't remember the name of the lounge. ( I can remember that Michael Rogers sat behind me in fifth grade, but I can't remember the name of a room I was in last week:confused: ) However, the cards they had stocked were kind of sticky and not easy to play with. Since they are small, pack your own.
