emilygrace Posted April 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2007 1. I'm leaving in 9 days on a cruise and want to book my next cruise while on board, but I want a particular cabin (well, one of two) which is available as of right now, but who knows by next week? Does anyone know how many times you can renew a 24 hour courtesy hold? 2. Anyone know which side of the ship allows smoking on the OUTSIDE decks? Don't need answers about the lounges, casino, dining room, cabins or balconies. I just want to know about the open decks. Thanks for all your help!;)
lawsoncd3 Posted April 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2007 I can't help you on the first question, but the second part is on the starboard side. (right side) D :)
DivineDivia Posted April 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2007 I don't know if this is BS or not, but they told me that they could not book me in a cabin that I had on hold. They said that it would have to be continued in the online system. They did say that once the hold was released, they'd switch me, but there was no guarantee. KarinaGW Posted April 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2007 Well, I've been renewing a courtesy hold every 24-36 hours for the past 2 weeks for Adventure. The new itineraries came out the day after I decided to pay in full (for a change of pace) both my kids' tuitions. So I won't be able to actually pay for them til next Wednesday. Of course, the downside is the rate can change at any time during the next few days and I will have to pay it...but, que sera sera
cb at sea Posted April 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2007 Wow--I didn't think they would let you "hold" a cabin indefinitely! That doesn't seem quite fair to those of us trying to book, and are ready to pay!
KarinaGW Posted April 26, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2007 No..no.... You have to be very pro-active....the Courtesy Hold expires between 24-36 hours. I've even had a day or two go by when the hold has lapsed completely because I really do have a life outside of cruising. I have every intention of buying the cabin. It was merely unfortunate timing. I also feel that I should mention that this cruise is over a year away and there are pretty much all the OS's (this is a "job well done" trip for my daughter the college grad-u-8) still available and none of them are particularly exciting beyond their Ownerness.
