Book Lover Posted May 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2007 We're taking the Barcelona to Venice cruise in July - our first with Oceania. I just got info in the mail about what to expect onboard. One of the dress code items I was wondering about was the no sandals rule in the dining areas. How can that be? All my summer shoes are nice sandals. Can anyone clarify for me? Wendy The Wanderer Posted May 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2007 I sure would like that clarified as well. My attire on all my Regent cruises has included dressy sandals at dinner, almost exclusively.
potterhill Posted May 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2007 I think you will find that most of the ladies wear nice sandals to the dining room. I know I did, didn't realize that they were prohibited. Never got stopped. I did see some people sent to change from dressy shorts (men) and flip flops. I suspect that refers to men (those sandals with socks!) and flip flops for everyone. Rare LHT28 Posted May 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2007 I wore dressy sandals I think they mean no flip flops, birks etc.... Sandals for men are a no-no for dinner but ok the rest of the day. Can you get dressy sandals for men???;) No sneakers for dinner either.
eandj Posted May 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2007 On a Regatta Caribbean cruise, can ladies wear nice capri pants with a dressier top , or should I only bring dressy slacks or skirts and dresses?
potterhill Posted May 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2007 I wore capris that were linen and had matching jacket, quite dressy. I think if you could wear it to a strict ( re dress code) golf course or country club, you can wear it. Mo
