Airport to Galveston, TX questions

What airport is closest to Galveston and what is the best/cheapest way to transport 7 people from the airport to Galveston?

Bush or Hobby in Houston... we rented some limos for our gang, I'm wanting to say that it ended up being about $35 per person? I'd look into that for 7 people... it's a haul.

Houston Hobby is the closest, about 40 miles to the ship. It is mainly Southwest Airlines terminal.

Hobby is the closest to Galveston- about 45 minutes, while IAH (Bush) is about 45 minutes- 1 hour further from Hobby; maybe an hour ++ depending on traffic and if you take the tollway or not.

 

I'd hire a limo or a mini bus service as they really aren't that much more than a cab or car rental. Do a google search for "Hobby Airport transportation to Galveston" or something like that. Alot of companies charge flat rates for the service.

Hobby is on the south side of Houston & closer to Galveston but not served by all airlines. Bush is located on north side of Houston.

Houston Hobby (HOU) is considerably closer than Bush (IAH) but choosing between the two will depend on what airline you want to fly.

They will take you from the airport to the dock.

 

Even from Dallas!!! Its only $59 from Dallas round trip, but has to be booked by a TA.

I wish I had known they had arrangements from Dallas....Sure will consider it next time, you can't drive it for that price and pay parking. My TA is in Houston so she probably didnt know and I wouldn't want to bother someone else at this late date.

If you know where Dillards is in Valley View mall, thats where they leave from in Dallas. I live in Richardson, so its a great location for me.
