Floflegs Posted May 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2007 We'd love to do a cruise through the Panama canal. Which is the best cruise line for this?
Rare LHT28 Posted May 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2007 I don't think there is "a best" It is all subjective to what you want in a cruise. some people are willing to pay a bit more for certain things on a cruise and some want to pay under $1000. I would however suggest doing the full transit from East to west or west to east coasts. cp556 Posted May 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2007 LHT is so right ... "best" is very subjective. Having said that, Holland America and Princess each do LOTS of Canal sailings each year. I agree that doing a full transit is preferable (JMO) than an in-out which transits (I think) two locks. Full transits are longer, but fascinating. Good luck in your choice! isujim Posted May 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2007 HI Flo........long time no post to each other.......LOL........ Agree there is no best........the canal itself is the destination.......having said that.........we did the Radiance of the Seas full Transit 15 day last October........one of our best cruises ever........... Do a full transit if you can vs. partial..............
Floflegs Posted May 20, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted May 20, 2007 Thanks for your help, folks. I would hope to do a full transit if possible. Hi, Jim, as you say long time no post. We are off on our first RCI cruise in 3 weeks. It'll be interesting to compare it with Princess. I see you have sailed on Splendour. How did you like it?
