mauiedin87 Posted June 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2007  We're booked on the 19-day RT Panama Canal cruise leaving L.A. April 21 and returning to L.A. May 10, 2008. I just assumed that this was a full transit of the Canal, going through all the locks and also returning through all the locks. Now I'm not 100% sure anymore. Does anyone out there know for sure? We're looking forward to it regardless!

Never seen a RT like that before
mauiedin87 Posted June 16, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 16, 2007 Yes, I'll check with our TA to be sure. That is an unusual itinerary for sure(there is only one other like that in September this year). It's booking up incredibly fast, so a lot of us West Coasters (actually we live in Arizona) must like the idea of not having to fly East. :D
goldiemom Posted June 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2007 If the cruise is on Princess, I do not think it does the full canal. It will transit the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks. The ship will spend the night in Gatun Lake and then transit back to the Pacific Ocean via the Pedro Miguel and Miraflores Locks. The ship will NOT transit through the Gatun Locks into the Atlantic Ocean. My in-laws went on this cruise in late 2005 and loved it. Have fun.
