Obie Posted August 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2004 Is it okay to bring my own alcohol or soda for in my room on board ship? We will be sailing on the Monarch in October.

39august Posted August 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2004 Liquor must be packed in your checked luggage, or else it will probably be taken from you and stored until til end of your cruise. I believe there is no problem carrying on soda. RCI has a duty free liquor shop on board with great prices, less than at home. They charge you $9.50 per bottle to take to your room. However, the first night on my last 3 cruises aboard the Brilliance and the Voyager, you could buy as many bottles as you want and only pay the $9.50 once. The liquors include plain and flavored rums, vodka, gin, bourbon and scotch. They even have a few premium liquors like Crown Royal. I don't remember the price, but it was much less than we would have paid at home.
